Boveda Wants to Hear From YOU!

Hi everyone!

Announcing a 5 week series of feedback requests from you the many growers here.

The series will be on the topic of “Harvest”.

In my eyes, the harvest has 5 steps & so for the next 5 weeks I will be asking how YOU do each of the 5 steps. Boveda learns from those doing the actual growing so what better way than ask how each of you harvest?

At the end of 5 weeks I’ll put everyone’s name in 5 draws for the new Boveda Butler!

You can check it out here: bovedabutler.com

@Boveda , we actually met one of the reps at your booth at CannaCon and they very generously sent me home with one (thank you!)

The unit is about the size of a standard car starter/door locker for a vehicle.

The calibration package kit seems pretty simple.

Downloading the software on Google Play store was simple (searched Boveda, saw the company icon, installed in a minute, on my way!)

Installed the software:

Simple account registration, didn't take a minute. Here's the home screen:

Added in the sensor. When it searched for it, I just had to have the sensor near my phone for it to detect and it picked up.

Screenshot_20190219-112835_Boveda - Copy.jpg

Changed "Cigars" to "Herbal" (hmmm what does THAT mean, Boveda? Wink wink.)

Screenshot_20190219-112846_Boveda - Copy.jpg

A convenient reorder option if that floats your boat:

And there it is! Detecting already in the calibration bag!

When I tap on the sensor, it brings up a more detailed view:

This was the initial reading, a few minutes later it updated and give me the next reading:

There is historical data for the sensor (which is great.)

And their knowledge base on the end with the "Learn" button:

AWESOME!!!! I love the software because with a click you can go to Boveda's FAQ'S etc. I'm loving mine. Thanks SO MUCH for posting this.

Drrrrrrrum rooooolllllllllllllll !!!!!

Here's Week 1's Questionnaire.
(Please answer inside the quote that appears after you 'reply'.

Boveda wants to hear what you do to prepare for your harvest.

Most agree that there are 5 distinct phases in this last & final push of time, energy, & patience. All agree that much can be learned from those who have been doing this for years --that possibly being you.

Boveda wants to hear all voices.

Each week over the next 5 weeks there will be a new questionnaire. Your names will be recorded for each week's questionnaire and at the end of the 5 weeks I'll draw one name for each week. There will be 5 lucky winners getting a Boveda Butler!

Step One: To Flush or not to flush? That is the question that Boveda wants you to answer :)

As most know, the word "flush" is given to the action of feeding only water for a period of time before the cut. Yes, this step is debated online with the idea being that the time spent with no nutrients is too much loss in yield to justify the results. To others, it's about purity & safety.

PLEASE TRY TO KEEP ANSWERS IN POINT FORM FOR EASE OF READING :)

You can answer inside the quote that appears when you click 'reply'. No time limit but new Q's weekly for the next 5 weeks. Boveda thanks you & encourages you to have fun :)

We're all ears.

Though my feedback will not be counted, I'll be the first to fill out the questions :watering:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are products to add in the days/weeks before the cut.

Do you use any of these products?

DIY (recipe or how-to) or Store (which product)?

Do you flush?

A>if yes, for how long?

>>do you count days or 'waterings'?

>>>do you merely feed water or do you actually flush the entire medium with fresh water?

B>if no, why not?

FREE REIGN: This is where we hope you'll expand on some of those tiny details subjective to each of you when preparing for the cut:

There are products to add in the days/weeks before the cut.o

Do you use any of these products? NO

DIY (recipe or how-to) or Store (which product)?

Do you flush? YES

A>if yes, for how long? Over a period of 14 days, I feed only water every other day.

>>do you count days or 'waterings'? BOTH

>>>do you merely feed water or do you actually flush the entire medium with fresh water? I've done both but full water flush takes a loooong time to dry out again so only did this once.

B>if no, why not?

FREE REIGN: This is where we hope you'll expand on some of those tiny details subjective to each of you when preparing for the cut:

I tend to feed intermittently the whole time I grow. Day one feed, day two water, day three feed, day four water, day five feed, etc. but I still flush possibly more than others.

Do you use any of these products? YES

DIY (recipe or how-to) or Store (which product)? BioDiesel nutrients "Crystal Clear"

Do you flush? YES

A>if yes, for how long? 72hrs

>>do you count days or 'waterings'? Both

>>>do you merely feed water or do you actually flush the entire medium with fresh water? Full hydro Rez change

B>if no, why not?

FREE REIGN: This is where we hope you'll expand on some of those tiny details subjective to each of you when preparing for the cut:

I usually use plain water but my nutes vender included a flush agent this time, I change entire Rez and run for 48hs then power off everything for 24hrs before the cut.

There are products to add in the days/weeks before the cut.
I reduce my nutrient % to 50% the last week before flush.

Do you use any of these products?
Yes

DIY (recipe or how-to) or Store (which product)?
I use Advanced Nutrients Flawless Finish and Mammoth P. in the flush fertigation.

Do you flush?
Yes, I grow in drip to waste rock wool cubes

A>if yes, for how long?
The flush is with Flawless Finish and Mammoth P in PH 5.8 water at MFG. suggested strength for 3 full days.

>>do you count days or 'waterings'?
Days, each day is fertigated to ~20% run-off.

>>>do you merely feed water or do you actually flush the entire medium with fresh water?
20% run-off each day
B>if no, why not?

FREE REIGN:
I run a drip to waste system in rock wool cubes. My drippers run 8 times per light period two hours after lights on to two hours before lights out. The goal is to achieve a 20% run-off of the total volume watered in one lights on period. It is the same schedule in the flush but the nutrients are removed except Mammoth P which is run the entire grow from week 1 and the Flawless finish is added.
I am almost done with my one year test of buds stored with Boveda 62s vs nothing but you may want that info in a different thread.
