Hey guys :toke: I'm currently growing a plant under 209w of cfls. The heat produced is getting annoying so I'm considering an 180w blackstar. Would the 180 of LED be superior to the 209w of cfl?

Hey hey :smokebuds:

How big of a space are you growing in?

Problem with LED's is currently the lifespan.. the CFLS are better but only slightly. The light produced by the Blackstar is somewhat more impressive however wattage is wattage. As long as you keep relatively new bulbs burning keep your wattage and light spectrum up where it needs to be it will be fine. I use 2 250 watt CFLS one 2700 K and one 6500 K and i have one desktop fan on high keeping the air moving. I get amazing results with this setup, very fast and responsive growth.

My space is 4 feet wide 5 feet tall and 3 feet deep. So the lifespan of LED's is short?

how is you cfl wattage divided up? one bulb? three? in the size space you have the blackstar 180 might be a little limited in coverage area. i grow with a combo of blackstar led and cfl

Heat is definitely the issue especially when's it's 90+ degrees outside which is the majority of the year. I'm really looking for a flowering boost and I'm willing to spend a few hundred. Is the LEDs penetration superior to the cfls? Or is that just with the higher wattage fixtures?

I have a blue 125w and 2 red 42s. I'm only running one plant but plan to start another soon.

i will ask, is the room your growing in air conditioned? you say its 90+ most of the year.:toke:
