Lighting Autocob grow with big sm0 and mephisto.

Funny I was thinking of going to the max yield but after seeing your problems with bugs getting in the soil and slater had an issue I ordered fabri bags again.

I don't have a ton of them but I did see a few and with the air pots who knows. Back to bags. My f-ing room is bare bones right now and it blows. Should have some around day 30 and ready to plant more and I don't. Basically losing out on a whole crop from these things. 1 round of neem and 3 rounds of azamaz should hopefully do it. The diatomaceous earth isn't working like I expected either. I saw a few gnats fly out and the whole top is covered.

A layer of play sand is supposed to tear the wings off adult gnats ....I've also used 4-5 drops Dr bronners unscented baby soap in my hand watering jugs...I also add liberal d.e. earth to my mix .

I used an organic spray I concocted for spider mites , probably work on gnats....

May sound stupid but I think I heard someone cover their soil with sand and that helps. I've never done just going off a memory lol.
I had the fungus gnats BAD, started on girls 2nd day. misqu. bits crumbled on top twice then a tea made from them. Next I put play sand on top at that point I knocked um down but not out, that really helped with the bits. Be ready to add more sand cause it tends to wash into soil when you water. they never really were gone until pots got overly dry once. That pretty much got um but also my girls. Lol girls made it ok Sans much of their leaves though. They were well into flower by then. No plants in house right now and I still see a little FU%$#R fly by at night.

@BigSm0, glad you took my advice. Been at this a long time Brother, the symptoms were classic Root Aphids. Don't mess around, wait it out and start over with new medium.please just throw out old medium. if you see bugs still with your new plants in bags, find a time and do a complete shutdown. Your set up is way too nice to keep those things around. When you shut down, scrap your flood table, they have eggs in them most likely. If you shut down in the future, clean it like a mofo. I heard heat kills eggs, possibly steam clean your room or heat room up to 120F or higher to help kill them. Don't sleep on them, they are hard to get rid of.

Hey thanks guys. It's nice to see the positive discussion on such a terrible pest. Did another azamax bath tonight. I also mixed up some 50/50 h2o2 the 34% or whatever it is that turns your skin white with some water. I sprayed down everything I could and washed up. Very strong mix. It started bubbling on the flood tables. I checked and still have some bugs. It's hard as there aren't many so I grabbed a handfull of soil and started looking at it and saw 2 clear bugs with little antennas. They don't look like root aphids more like thrips which I did have before. What is the reason they are only hitting certain plants? I'm ordering imidacloprid and will run the whole bottle till they are gone. The last plants will be finished in 30 days or so but I want to kill everything before they finish.

Yes I have heard of people using sand. They also sell gnatnix which seems to be an over priced option. One little bag was 20 dollars and only enough to cover a few pots. The stuff looks just like fine perlite but heavier. That's what made me think of doing the perlite/diatomaceous earth mix. It should work and it's definitely covering the soil.

I used mosquito bits and sand for fungus gnats, had them REal bad. A guy on you tube uses small volcanic rock for crawlies, says it tears them up all which ways.
