Auto pots, thoughts please.

Also one last thing I have a bluelab combi meter and the pH probe stays in the solution in my Res so I just adjust as needed
Hmmm. Is the probe on your combination meter different tech than the design of the pens? I would expect "storage", i.e. long term immersion, in something other than high molar KCl would harm the sensor element. OTOH, I know the high end automated systems sense pH continuously... It seems that I have something to learn here somewhere.

OK so guys heres my sketch. I've filled my auto pots with pebbles etc etc. Soil ready I have my clones I put them into the soil and water them from Above for two weeks to get them established, with a light nutrients or not?? The soil will feed them for a bit won't it if I get a light mix?? Then when it comes to turning the system on do I start off at 500ppm to feed them from start to finish?? With ph correct etc. And a small air pump coming on a few times a day just to mix, Im just trying to get a step by step guide in my head before I start. Any steps advice welcome.

mine is the one in pic 2 but its the same probe as the guardian i also emailed bluelab about keeping it in the res they said its perfectly fine I just calibrate it monthly and I also have a hanna waterproof one so I know they're both accurate with each other also I have my bluelab on the wall and I mix all my 40 l of food up in a bucket in the bath and ph it there then tip it and monitor it with the bluelab daily then also @Watson1984 you won't go wrong with bluelab

Can I ask will just a b and bloom get me through a hydro grow in coco?? I need some more specific information lol

Alright guys and girls. I'm thinking of going auto pots my next grow. They seem easy as from what I have watched and read, or am I loving in a dream world, any tips device would be great I've got a good environment already and some decent kit. I'm just shit at watering. And these seem to do it all for you with the nutes right. He says. Cheers

I've tried them once.
I prefer DWC plant vessels with float valves hooked up to an external storage tank.
I've gone back to that.

i would say so yes but you may need calmag depending on your water but let me get @Mañ'O'Green in here he know more about feed than anyone on here

I need more information please what brand of nutrients? What is your starting water. If your nutrients do not contain bi0-stimulants I recommend them.

Pebbles? Not a good idea growbro. Especially with sub-irrigation, coarse drainage material in the bottom of the pot can cause problems. Water tends to move poorly across a quick change in particle size. In any case, pebbles can also bring chemical mischief with them - not all of them are as inert as you think. If you insist on putting "pebbles" down there, you are better off with hydroton, but don't use the cheap stuff, it sometimes causes issues with nutes or pH.

I can't help you with managing the light mix, my only attempt at a light peat mix was a mess. If I use a peat mix again, I will start with straight peat and amend it myself.

Good luck with it. :pighug:

I was going to use the shogun brand maybe for coco or canna coco. I want something easy I can just mix up without too much fannying around. And my water is tap water hard lol.
