A tale of two tents... or 2B humid or not 2B...
I got a couple of things today to further tweak my grow room. One was a new commercial grade stand up sprayer with hose so I can spray the soil with water or nutes with a high level of precision and accuracy. Not only that but now I don't have to bend over to spray the plants. Rather necessary when tending to 12 plants at a whack.
The other was to solve a problem I created when I expanded my operation. With one tent in the room I had a lot of control over humidity. When I added the second tent for flowering and in anticipation of a real huge White LSD or two, I bought another larger tent to use for flowering. The only problem was that when my first crew started flowering and I needed to get the humidity down in that room alone and keep humidifying the other. I had taken out the first humidifier I got because it was taking up room in the veg tent and I was always filling the friggin thing.:slaps:
Instead I got a ten gallon one that could blast the whole room to steam bath... It made it real easy to dial in on the humidity and only has to be filled once a week. But because the two were in the same room and the friggin filter fans in each were whirring like jet engines, it was next to impossible to keep a 5% difference between the two.
With the suggestion of another member and some of my own location specific improvisation, I've got this sucker DIALED IN!!!!!!!!!!
All I had to do was buy a few things that were well worth the investment for the level of control I now have over the humidity. One was a speed regulator for the 4 inch fan in the veg tent to slow it down so it's not spewing humidified air out at 175 miles an hour, just gently moving it through instead. The other was a ten foot shower curtain rod, 2 cheap curtain liners and 24 curtain rings. I put it up, plugged in the motor, cranked the humidifier, pulled the shower curtains cutting the room in half and cracked the door to the rest of the basement to suck in 25% humidity air. Now I can have up to a 30% difference in humidity between the two rooms. Veg tent is now 65% day and 75% night. Flower is now 40% day and 48% night.
Far out man! I've also added a new lights on ritual which is to open the outside window and pull the shower curtain, equalizing the whole room for a short period and exchanging the air with new fresh air. It takes about 30 minutes for the two areas to adjust back to their respective humidity levels afterward. Now that's nice. Another little project that I'm glad I tackled.
This video shows the what I am talking about.

Finally! A stoner moment bright idea that works! Ha ha ha!!! :Clever Sh*te:
P.S. In the summer I'll do the same thing but in reverse, using a de-humidifier instead.
