Hello everyone,

I would be in dire need of advice please. I am trying to grow some autoflowering medical strains in a 4ft X 4ft grow tent but the seeds have not grown since I planted them into supposedly stabilised coir and perlite medium in 3 gallon cloth pots.

They were germinated in rockwool cubes under fluorescent grow tubes and behaved as they were expected to do but have not progressed.

The temperature is 82 with lights on and drops to 75 with lights off and heat is supplied by an oil column heater. Humidity varies a little around 65% and I am using an LED source ~ Viparspectra PAR series 450W at 40 inches height as recommended.

I was advised by the business I purchased the tent from to use the coconut product and not feed the seedlings until they had started to rapidly grow at about 3 weeks. I have not watered them since the initial watering and the cloth grow bags are still very damp to the touch. pH is roughly 6, they look like they are starving but if I feed them the grow bags will be wetter still or can I give them just a little nutrient around where the edge of where the rockwool would be?

Seeds I planted 2 weeks later that are photoperiod seeds from a friend are doing a lot better but I planted them into some of my farm compost with perlite and coco fibre in equal portions with some rainforest EM that I make myself.

Would love some help with this. I have half a mind to remove them from the 3 gallon cloth posts and put them in a smaller pot with my compost mix but was told by the store that transplanting will kill them.

I realise they will be a write off but would like to get them right healthwise for the learning experience.

Hi and welcome to AFN :welcome:. I'm an outdoor soil sorta guy and don't know squat about growing in coco indoors  . But we'll see if we can find someone to help out  @bushmasterar15 @St. Tom @Mañ'O'Green any of you guys know the does and donts of coco?

@Elyara Welcome to AFN. To get someone’s attention put the at-mark @ in front of their AFN name like I did for you. @archie gemmill will be tagging you with some important AFN information.

Feed them ASAP with 50% strength nutrients in the PH range 5.8 to 6.2. Poor babies are starving. Coco is a form of hydroponics and you feed from day 1. What nutrients do you have?

Hi @Mañ'O'Green. Thank you for your response :)

I have Professor's Organic Grow from the store I bought the tent from (they recommended Organic because the end use is for medical purposes). I also have a huge compost heap and we use fish emulsion, EM, kelp and molasses that we ferment for our pastures. The compost is mainly horse manure, hay and straw based with some wood shavings and is now very well decomposed and black ~ it's also full of earthworms. The EM I make myself from materials gathered from an ancient rainforest near us so it will be rich in fungi.

The seedlings show none of the symptoms in the photos on this board of nutrient deficiencies except perhaps that the first leaves have yellowed a bit. They are not stretchy just stuck and not growing.

I feed from the beginning as soon as I have a sprout so they will be starving my friend as there is zero food in coco just start off on a 3rd strength notes and they will pick up

I have never used this nutrient product, in fact I never even heard of it until now. I do not know exactly how to recommend its use. The thing is with coco you should fertigate (water with nutrients is called fertigation) every watering to about 15% - 20% run-off. As to the strength you should go with the chart from the Professor.

How often should I feed them? Really appreciate the help gentlemen.

Every time you water.
