Another new but sadly not so young member :)

Hi Guys,

Sorry to be a bother.

The girls have put out a new set of leaves each but the old leaves have actually paled quite a bit since I started 1/2 strength fertilizer. I am pretty sure they are showing signs of light stress as they look like the photo here https://www.growweedeasy.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/light-burned-leaves.jpg minus the brown tips. I don't really understand how that could be as they are 40" from the Viparspectra PAR 450 as per manufacturers' recommendation. I have dimmed the white light to 60% and left the blue at 100%. Red is 60%. Is that OK?

I am really confused as I have read people on this forum recommending 24" distance for that particular light at veg. Could there be a problem with the light itself or is there something else that looks the same as too much intensity that I am unaware of? @Mañ'O'Green and @St. Tom

I still have my old 600w viperspecta dimmable and when in veg I used to keep mine at 28 inch maybe lower it slightly and run it 100 pcent on blue and 50 on red with no issues I've upgraded since then but I still kept it as it's a great light .anyhow how old are your girls now you feed with food every watering in coco also another thing I start all mine off in solo cups and put them in there forever home at around a week or 10 days you cant overfeed or mess up then and in your coco did you prepare it with ph water before you planted in it and always feed to run off as it makes a big difference

Here are some photos albeit poor quality taken with my phone. The smaller seedlings are CBD Hash Plant autos and they germinated on the 9th of May so are nearly 5 weeks old and look dreadful. The larger seedling in the small pot is an unknown photo period plant that I sowed on the 25th of May and germinated 4 days later so is 12 days old.

The only difference is that the "ordinary" seedling was transplanted into a small root training pot that is a mixture of aged compost, perlite and coir whereas the auto girls were transplanted straight into their permanent home of coco and perlite ( I was very gentle transplanting them). All were started in rockwool germination cubes

The coir is a buffered product. pH is 6 in the coir cloth pots and 6.5 in the one with the compost.

I have been feeding the autos every day since you advised me to until runoff. The seedling in compost has not been fed.

I made some compost tea yesterday and wonder if I should use that diluted today in place of the nutrient solution?

Thanks. I really appreciate the help. :)
