Outdoor 6 x Mandala Safari Mix (Photo, Reg)

Looking good!! Not sure if I am going to grow ghost peppers again...only got a few off mine last season with the late flower trigger. Planning on trying to few odd varieties of how peppers this season in addition to jalepenos, habenaros. In fact...better get germing soon huh!

I'm not doing too well on the peppers.
Looks like Ronin has some nice advice below, though.

Germ them peppers, amigo!

Very nice.:pass:
All I run are the super hot varities, Bhut jolokia, 7 pot, scorpions...
Sounds like you were successful at over wintering them.
Most folks kill their peppers in the off season.
You can keep peppers going for years by overwintering them.
Make sure to keep the peppers fed with an even N-P-K.
They veg and flower all at the same time so they'll need a bit of everything.
As far as getting flowers to set into peppers...
Peppers self pollinate and if there are no bees present, you'll have to do their job.
As soon as you see the flowers open, flick them with your finger. This will pollinate them.
Part of my daily garden operations is to go through the peppers and either flick individual flowers or once large enough, I shake the entire plant.
My pepper production has quadrupled since taking these measures:cheers:

Awesome, you have hot tastes, haha!

The whole environment here is super humid and wet, which is not good for peppers.
I will try to keep them dry.

I heard about the pollination trick, and I've done a bit of ganja breeding, so that's not too hard.

Will experiment further until I can make it happen!!

Day 10 - Mandala Safari Mix

These five little babies are doing very nicely.

The biggest 2 or 3 are about 15cm = 6" wide on the first set of leaves..
Can't see any particular leaf phenotypes at this point, they are fairly similar, maybe just a little wider or narrower.

Will need to re-pot fairly soon I think, as their roots must be touching the bottom already, though they won't be root-bound yet.

Love and hugs,
MJS

Finally got AN my Sensi Bloom Coco A+B and the GM CaMa.
The CaliMagic had leaked a bit in the box, getting a few other goods wet....
On seeing the actual Sensi Bloom label, and it's Ca Mg %, realized I prob didn't need the extra CaMa..........

Plan to go and do a nice soaking of the outdoor pre-dug holes tonight.
Thinking about what amount to use............. Maybe go for full dose, because rain will wash it all down..........

Day 11 - Mandala Safari Mix

Yes, you guessed it --- more baby photos!!!!!!

Family shot -- I moved them around in that larger 15 pot tray to give them all a bit more room.

Trying to identify phenos, but since the Safari Mix strain isn't really a strain, but a mixed bunch of experimental Mandala crosses, may be a bit silly.
Can only say that there are some slightly wider and slightly narrower leaves, and slightly darker and slightly lighter coloration.
May also be some slight differences in branching, from the little shoots at the nodes.
But really, this much variation could even occur in fairly well established IBL strains, so will really have to wait until full growth and flowering.

At this point, they are at the same stage as the Early Top Tao at day 20 or so, in terms of which set of leaves,
but already overtook the ETT in terms of sheer size a couple of days ago.

Have high hopes for these five, they are really doing very well.
Can say that Mandala seeds are vigorous seedlings at least, hope it continues on through veg and bloom.

In other news, I mixed up about 4 L = 1 gal of the Sensi Bloom Coco A+B with some CaliMagic as well.
I went for a full dose, which is 4 ml / L for the Sensi, and 1ml per L for the CaliMagic.
pH was a nice 6+, and the ppm meter gave about 800, so about 1.6 EC. Perfect.
Will try to get out to the outdoor garden site later today and wash this down, about 0.5L per hole.
Would like to do more and give the larger area a good soak down, but carrying in 4L may be the max for discretion.

Love and hugs,
MJS

Day 12 - Mandala Safari Mix

Quite glad that I can continue doing my (almost) daily updates for now.
The larger ones are just starting to poke their roots out the bottom of the little pots.
As you can see, the leaves are well over the edges of these little pots.
Should really transplant into larger pots, but then have to transplant outside in a week or two anyway.

Most of the first set of leaves are about 15cm = 6" wide,
and now some of the second sets of leaves are also about 15cm = 6" wide, and growing.

The family group shot:

Looking good maria . Can't wait to see what happens . Aren't you afraid they will reveg when put outside before June 21st. That is if they go into flower before then .

Thanks. Not afraid. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. It'll be a learning process.
If they veg, they may get pretty darn huge, which would be fun to watch.
I think that they'll def flower, because they'll still have less than 13/11 for many weeks.
Maybe they'll end up as continual flowering and veging at the same time.

I also have a bunch of autos planned.
If I do enough of this, some photos here, some autos there, will at least get some buds in the end, haha!
It'll be fun!

Haha true . Only once I had a plant reveg and it was not a complete reveg either it was as though she went back into veg then flower within a 3 week period so not much monster growth on her at all . Bad thing I did not know the strain that did it.

Only time I've really re-vegged is indoors, after harvest.
I think one of my earlier DWC runs, I just left the mother plants' base stem and root system in place, and flipped back to 18/6.
It took a few weeks, but they slowly went back.
The usual bushy scraggly mess of 1-, 2- and 3- pointer leaves though.
Not pretty, haha!
