Outdoor 6 x Mandala Safari Mix (Photo, Reg)

Day 3 - Mandala Safari Mix

Looking nice. Still not sure about [HASHTAG]#6[/HASHTAG], but 5/6 is still nice for me.

Top left corner leaves have a heavy notch in the serrations, kind of cool looking.
They're doing really well.

Added some mychorrhizal spores last night,
but poking some deep holes down about 1" out from the stem,
and dropping the spores in, then gently watering down.
At this age, the roots should not have been damaged by the holes.
This morning they looked good.

Day 5 - Mandala Safari Mix

Doing well. Have given up on [HASHTAG]#6[/HASHTAG], so 5 babies it is. All looking very nice at this point. Nice color and stems.
Some interesting first true leaves. Some have big notches on the serrations (especially top left).
Since this is a "mix" of "experimental crosses", I'm guessing, and hoping, that there will be a lot of variation.

Breaking ground

Out of the 6 seeds soaked and then planted, now have 4 up out of the ground.
Hoping for the other 2 some time later today.

The other kind of breaking ground

This is the breaking ground when I get out before dawn with a big sack of soil mix and a spade,
down to the garden site to dig some holes and drop the mix in and get out quickly and unnoticed.
The soil mix was some second hand local potting mix that house mate feebly sprouted a few lettuces in before abandoning it.
It already had some extra perlite and vermiculite added to it, threw in some dolomite lime, and some water crystals.
I have some AN Sensi Bloom A&B on the way, which is pH perfect, plus cal-mag (in N) at 1-0-0.
When it gets here, I'm going to do a pre-soak of the sites with that, and the natural rains will wash it all in nicely.
And after it sits a couple of weeks, the seedlings will be big and strong enough to transplant out.

Nothing like a bit of garden digging work before dawn.
There were monkeys nearby. They were actually already there the afternoon and night before.
No photos.................. of garden, holes or monkeys.
hoping the monkeys aren't stoners, lol

I'll roll one for them, if they are..................

gonna be a flavorful cuppa
Very, very sweet. Going to take my balcony basils and mints and stuff and put them into a long term outdoor garden.
Spring is starting, so they should hopefully take off again.

those 5 looking precious
They are. My imagination is going crazy thinking of what "experimental" crosses these are from Mandala.
It's all good. I actually think this is a good option for a new area, get a range of genetics, and see which ones will work here.

Thanks for stopping by!!!
