Outdoor 6 x Mandala Safari Mix (Photo, Reg)

After 24 hrs on soak, about 3 or 4 seeds had cracked.
So, I potted them into 10cm = 4" square pots, about 0.5L each.
I just used the good new soil, very black nice looking peat, with a little bit of perl and verm.

Let's give them a couple more days to pop the soil.
Hopefully here by the weekend sometime.

Mandala Seeds looks like a pretty cool company.
Their website is more focused on growing and preserving some nice land race strains.

The Safari Mix contains a mix of seeds from various experimental crosses in our breeder lab. The strains are equally well suited for outdoor (balcony, greenhouse, up to 43° latitude in the ground; further north the harvest time can shift to middle/end of October). The germination rate of our mix is just as strictly controlled as with all our products. Please read our Germination Guide for details on how to plant the seeds.
And some info at Seed Finder:
http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Safari_Mix/Mandala_Seeds/
Which has some nice reviews (if you read German...)

A lot of the Mandala strains are bred for outdoors, with low nutrient requirements, resistance against mold and pests, and with heat stress.

So, it's perhaps not bad for me here to experiment with, and find out what will grow well in this kind of location / climate / environment.

MJS
