Dutch Passion 4xABBs in a scrog under a GN MS0006 rebel

I started giving nutes at day 20, yesterday. The grow mix I'm using is moderately pre-fertilized, it says on the bag it should be enough for the first 3 weeks. It has worked out pretty well in the past. But you're right it does look a bit pale. I was just concerned that it might be lock-out due to incorrect pH and I figured adding nutes then would be bad. It has bounced back for the most part but it's still a bit pale looking.

That's why i switched to organic compost and nutes, no need to worry about ph, no need to flush because the soil buffers itself, if it has a good microbiology going on, which you ensure by prewatering the soil for a few days to a week before planting.

I've been curious about organic growing as well. I might try it one day.

Things are moving along pretty well. All 4 plants showed sex, ABB#1 and #4 at day 21, ABB#2 at 19 and ABB#3 at 22 and there is already quite a strong veg smell in the tent. I'm pretty sure ABB#1 is out of the dangerzone, every new set of leaves is darker and healthier looking than the previous set.
I lowered the light a bit so it's now around 46 cm away from the screen and about 40-42 cm away from the plant tops with 4 spots on.

I occasionally had stems snap in the past and when they do it's usually around the 2nd or 3rd bend. So this time I put a pipe cleaner across so I can create a half square and gradually bend the stem into position. I'm hoping to avoid any snapped stems in this way.

Day 22

Hey man dont know if its just me or do those leaves look like you have got a mg diff. See the way the leaf vein is darker and outer edge of the leaves are going slight lime pale color. Could be wrong man sorry if i am.

I agree with you Briain, I gave them a 1/4 dose cal-mag and 1/8 of grow nutes last watering. I'm wondering if I can increase the cal-mag to 1/2? The bottle says it can be given at full dosage from week 2 on but I wouldn't go that far.

Ive always worked my way up to using full dosage without any problems when it comes to cal and mag. You should be fine moving it up to half.

I had calmag issues last grow and they started fairly early on.

This time round i bought some dolomite lime and there's no sign of calmag def at all :

Dolomite lime is definitley the way to go with soil grows under LED.

Thanks for the hint Briain, good to know that it can be used at full dose later on.

Steely, I think I will add some dolomite lime next grow. How much did you use?

You can also throw epsom salts into your soil mix to help with cal/mg. One tablespoon of epsom salts per gallon of soil mix should be sufficient.

I'm still struggling a bit with the cal-mag issue. I was expecting some cal-mag issues, switching from CFL to LED, just not this early in the grow. I will definitely add dolomite lime for my next grow.
I watered #2,#3 and #4 with root stim, 1/4 grow nutes and 1/2 cal-mag. The new growth on those is looking much healthier so I hope I got it sorted now. The soil of #1 is still too wet to give it a proper watering so I tried foliar feeding with cal-mag but I'm not sure if it really helped as it's still looking pretty rough. On top of that I was a bit heavy handed with #4 and managed to break the main stem. Luckily it's a minor break, about 1/4 of the way through, so I taped it up and it doesn't seem to have affected it much.
Despite all those issues there has been a decent amount of growth and quite a lot of new bud-sites formed.

Day 26

This has been a humbling experience as I have realized that I still have a lot to learn.
