Lighting 400w HPS vs Citizen COB clu048

I think you would be surprised how simple it is. I have not built one but these are almost plug and play at this point. If you can strip a quarter inch of plastic insulation off of a wire and turn a screwdriver you are most of the way there.

Wow, thanks for the speedy response! Also thanks @420Forever, you’re an awesome people person so I knew you’d know who to talk to! Folks like you are the lifeblood of afn.

I should mention I’m trying to stay under $300 if I do upgrade. And I’m happy to put it together myself. Does anyone have a build recommend, or a favorite video of a good build? The samsung sounds nice, how much flowering space were you covering?
they guy i followed for my lighting build and nutrients for the new grow is greengenes garden on youtube.
dude has a ton of rock solid lighting info as well as nute info.
solid channel to sub.

and for the space of the grow and the budget
go with boards like Mark is showing
my brother has a pair at his place as well. for the money its top shelf.
you would have a BAD ASS lighting set up for a 32x32
and also the diodes give a really nice color for photos. no blurple red stains. pretty natural lighting for photos.

The freaking wires on mine were pre stripped and had wago connectors so didn’t need screwdriver! Allen or hex wrench if u mount to heatsink or screwdriver if u mount externally

Exactly. My example is worst case scenario today. :)

Would have liked Cree red but he was out of stock. I was impatient.

Where’d you get it?

Is this actual power draw?? What did I miss here? Under 0.5c/w? Finda it a bit hard to believe :nono:
most likely under the wattage a little bit. nut not so far off that its not worth it.
them samsung 301 b's are LEGIT and the meanwell is a good driver.
the driver will tell you what the actual wattage going out is.
the photon and umol #s are the numbers that are stellar. making the wattage # slightly obsolete in terms of grams per watt.
@Dabber is rocking something crazy efficient like 9 watts per sq ft, i am right around 20-25 watts per sq ft which is low to the "standard" watts per sq ft.

IMO for the $ those cheap boards are a great buy. led's have reached a plateau so even the cheaps are getting to the point that they are good lights.
. anything using the 301 diodes is pushing out photon rich light. even if they are only 150 watts from the wall. not sure you can buy an already built unit at the same cost that will be even close.

cheers man, welcome back

@Master_gRoshi - thanks, yeah, its been a while since I've been active here. I know wattage isnt everything, but I also know how sneaky some sellers can be.

Have my heart set on a couple of the new GN Thelos 10 Pro though
