Lighting 400w HPS vs Citizen COB clu048

Should mention I’ve had good luck so far vegging with my Mars Hydro ts600. Just getting this bunch ready to go outside, but it’s been working well. One has decided to flower lol, was a seed that came out of a gg last year, so not sure why lol.

That light will grow dank bud. Hell people grew bud with burples. There is nothing wrong with that light. my main light is a Chinese Cree cob with several dozen full spectrum and IR smaller diodes behind lenses. I just would not buy it today. Knowing what we know there are better more efficient fixtures. Plus with DIY the 400 I spent on my Chinese fixture would have gone a long way.

I have owned and ran qb boards, autocobs, blurple, Mars cob, and now running a ts2000. I have had no issues to speak of with any. The ts2000 does beat out the qb boards and my buddy has the alibaba led boards. We compared and the qb boards are way brighter. Cobs will always do the same as always which is phenomenal.

It all comes down to what you are looking for. If running similar strains strips or boards but if you're like me you will want both. All the same height strains under boards and for those pesky sativa ladies that get crazy a cob works awesome for. But ultimately a room of cobs will cover both also. But a mix of spectrum is where you will see the most frost imo.

I have boards built with Nichia LEDs, a QB 324. Its a nice light but no, the Samsung 561 chips has equal spectrum and better efficiency, and the 301b even more so, otherwise, you'd have seen HLG continue using them. They built them as a lower priced option board that still was superior in quality to the cheap Chinese boards.

here it is in action!

If i was buying a light right now it would probably be one of those new Lumatek ones, those are some badass lights. OR i'd maybe try to get one of those australian boards with nichia diodes(even better then samsung) from cutter or growlightsaustralia. I really like the spectrum choices on those. Also can't deny the fantastic prices on diy strips... But... I sold my SP-250 and got myself 3x 65 watt cxm-22 3500K CRI 90 gen 4 single cobs last year and they've been exceeding my expectations so far, heck i have to run them at 40 watts a piece for autos(2x4) when running all 3 that's how powerful they are. Very very pleased and not planning to change anytime soon, COB's still kick it. Just my 2 cents.

Got her in.

I know I remember u saying it was 301b or 301h diodes right?? Just curious cuz those strips come with whichever diode u r getting and those actually say lm561c which is an older diode! Just making sure u know in case u had told me the diff diodes u were expecting
