I use about an ounce of weed for a one ounce dropper bottle.
I start with Bud that has been dried and cured and I crumble it up into bits or chopped it up into bits. Then I dry it out bone dry. If I'm running one ounce I divide about 15 grams to a pint mason jar and put those jars bud and all in the freezer for at least 24 hours.
I also have Everclear in the freezer at the same time that use to wash those buds.
So on the day I make my tincture I pour Everclear into one of the jars and Shake it for 3 minutes. I found that to be about the best for me. I pour that into a metal screen and it runs off into a half-gallon mason jar.
Then I have other half gallon mason jars setup with coffee filters that I used to filter the liquid that comes out of that first job.
When I get all that alcohol filtered I go ahead and put it in my water distiller that has been modified to distill alcohol and I run that down till I've got about a hundred mil of alcohol left.
Then I just evaporate the rest of the alcohol until I get the tincture strength that I like.
Now that process Probably sounds horribly complicated but I store most of my weed in alcohol infused tincture simply because my state allows me to have a lot more of that.
If I want to make butter all I have to do is drop some butter into my water distiller it will shut off automatically when all the alcohol's been distilled out I wait a half-hour and I pour out my butter.
If I want to make Coco caps I can do the same thing I just put a couple tablespoons of Coco in there with my alcohol it shuts off automatically when the alcohol distills out and then I take the cocoa and I can fill up the Coco caps.
It's taken me awhile to acquire all the stuff I need to process this way but it is so much easier once you get used to it. I have to work pretty hard every Harvest Time as I process you know 10 15 20 ounces of weed sometimes but it sure is a lot easier than all the other processes you can go through to make butter etc.
