Additional info:
New here and finishing up my 2nd grow with WW autos. First plant was cut last night after seeing somewhere and trying 72 hours of darkness with ice on top of pot before cutting. As I was doing it thinking to my self that this is going to keep the roots pretty wet as the ice slowly melts.. but read it online so must be good to go. May have ruined it by not having any fans on it.. but.. cut last night and started seeing some of the sacks on the bottom of buds more so on the bottom four stems that were purple/brownish in color.. immediately thought the worse and started looking up mold. watched a video on youtube and dont see any of the grayish stickiness that they had inside the buds when puller apart. I pulled a couple buds apart and looks all greenish and very sticky except for the different color of some of the sacks. Cut one bud in half and same thing all green but the sacks. Right now have them hanging in a DIY drying rack 4ft x 4 ft x 5ft tall from top.. have occilating fan on floor about 15 ft away with front of rack off floor to catch air and exhaust out top.. RH 38% - 68F where buds are in it. I did move some of the buds that had more discolor to them seperate and in open air rack with same fan providing indirect air. Do I continue drying or ...

Sorry but I cannot tell by the pictures. If you squeeze the dark colored bits between your fingers is it slimy? May smell sour-rotten also. If it is then it is rot if not it is just a color change?

I don't see any mold, but the pics are not clear enough to be absolutely certain. At any rate,I would keep drying until it's time to trim and jar, and if you don't see any obvious mold by then, I think you are good to go. What @manogreen said though, if any of the darker bits are smelly or soft and slimy, you have rot. Still not the end of the world though, just cut it away generously, and you should still have some left.

FWIW, I think drying until the stems snap is too dry - I jar when they can still bend, and watch carefully for the first few days to keep the humidity in the jar less than ~75- 80%. I use those cheap small temp/rh meters in the jars to keep track. If the buds are not dry enough to keep the humidity less than 80% overnight is a sealed jar, I spread the buds out on a tray for a few hours and re-jar. Once the humidity in the jars will stay somewhere in the 70% range, I vent the jars some every day to gradually bring it down to the low 60% range, at which point I stick in a 62% Boveda to continue the cure from there.

Different strokes though, so choose yer poison...

Hi.. Thanks for replys.. breathing a little again.. lol. No when I pinch the darker sacks.. not slimy at all.. not a sour smell at all.. same smell as a pinch of leave rolled between fingers.. just tried it.. and same feel like just like a pinch off the leaves do. Pulled apart another bud and I dont see anything but green inside. going to keep drying.. put them all together now.. will keep watching them closely.
@Olderfart I agree and have read that its better to under dry before putting in jars than to over dry.. with only the 38ish RH any guess how long before watching closely before jarring.. was thinking 5-6 days?

With 38ish and the bit of air movement it will go quick, I'd be surprised to see them go more than 3 days. OTOH, I don't dry before trimming, so yours might take a bit longer. Just keep your eye on them and don't let them get too dry. As long as they are dry to the touch on the outside but still have some give when you pinch one, you are still probably safe. If there is any way you can nudge rh up to ~50% it would last a bit longer.

Once the smallest buds feel stiff throughout, but stems still bend, you are in the zone for trimming and jarring. Just watch them like a hawk once they are in the jars, and if the rh goes too high, vent or spread them out to keep the drying process going, but under control.

Looks good, glad to hear that there is no sign of mischief. If there is none there now and you are at 38%, you should be fine. :goodluck::pighug:

well they are into jars now.. didnt see anything bad while doing final trim and putting in jars. watching and burping the jars at least every 8 hrs or so for 15ish mins. RH down to 67ish this morning from around 73RH when first put into jars a couple nights ago. stems would bent but didnt break off.. buds were dry on outside.. but still sticky inside when pulled a couple open during final trim.
Put second plant into darkness last night after using only cold water on it last week.. lol. one more to go.. put still had lots of white hairs so still waiting on it.
Thanks again everyone!
