Maybe get rid of the background images behind the forums to speed things up and tone down image quality a bit. Mostly I think its just a few too many pixels causing the forum lag. Otherwise great work. FWIW Invision makes some pretty solid forum software thats a little more user friendly and mod friendly

AFN is hands down my favorite canna site online!!!
Ran very well.
Not a bunch of bickering.
A supportive, educated, enthusiastic, knowledgeable community!!!!
Please keep up awesome work.

i notice when i log through my firefox browser using https:// i get a notice of insecure conection, whats up with that? I dont get that on 420 mag forum.

I get the same warning, firefox says some content is not being sent over https. It looks like it is this image that is part of the top banner causes the problem on all pages, regardless of any other forum content:

http://affiliate.seedsman.com/accounts/default1/banners/1308_seeds_aff_gen_468x60.gif

If the the address of that image were updated to https (which does work!) the warning should go away on most pages, which would be a good thing! I know it has been discussed a bit earlier in the thread but I wanted to say +1 on having all content from the autoflower.net servers to go over https. I know you can't necessarily control links outside of the site, but there is no reason not to redirect any http request to autoflower.net to the https protocol. I know everyone would appreciate the boost to their browsing privacy given the topics discussed here, plus chrome will report all http sites as insecure starting in July, no one wants to be shamed with the insecure icon!

Wanted to say keep up the good work everyone on the technical team!

I just realized I don't like it when I mouse over the first row last three (my profile, inbox and alerts) of drop down boxes the information is displayed and you have to click somewhere else to take scope away from that box. "Alerts" button is maybe ok since there is not a lot of chance to accidentally run the mouse over it. The other two should be click activated instead of roll over. IMHO.

@Son of Hobbes

There is a section header that bugs me.
CannaZone Performance Testing & Grow Battles

I noticed this on tapatalk on my phone a lot and it's confusing. I keep looking for the link to the vendor area then realize they are under the Perf Testing and Grow Battles. This area is where all the vendors are now. Its not so much performance testing and grow battles is it? Why not call it AFN Vendors or something?

Liking all the changes made so far! Need to get some traffic in the nutes/additives area eventually.

I'll bring it up to the team and we'll give it a thought brother!

We're expanding out our indie breeder section too, in fact we've got 4 new autoflower breeders that are based out of N. America that are coming on (BearHill Seeds just got here this morning!)

Loving the new work :d5:

A few more suggestions:

Since new Growers Journals and New growers forum were merged (along with indoor/outdoor having the same done), maybe rename them to 'New growers Discussion and Journals' just to let new people know it isn't JUST for journals.
Same with the indoor/outdoor sections.

Suggestion for grow competitions:
Each battle to get its own forum with the rules pinned to the top.
This forum to then be used for all grow Journals used in the competition.
Once the competition has been completed, then the forum can be Archived in a specific archive section for grow battles.

I think this would be a vast improvement over the current system with just one post per week per person.
It would greatly assist people when looking for grow journals related to a specific breeder/strain/Equipment manufacturer.

We've had a few people suggest that, that shouldn't be a problem to do!

I'll run that by @Mossy , Grow Battles are her baby!

I know some people will complain when they use the same plant in several different battles (e.g COB and Seed Vendor battles).
However, I think this is just a price you have to pay if you want to do multiple entries. More chance of winning needs more effort ;)

Really loving AFN but don't understand who gives out badges and how to get them, I'm sure I have earned some but don't have any!
