Lighting 2 lites vs Dual spectrum HID

Hey folks, :tiphat:

Heres my internal debate of the moment, and it ain't gonna happen for awhile, I have Auto fever and a few runs of great seeds. I want to grow perpetual in my bigger tent, 4'x4'x6.5'. Currently running a 600 w digital HID.

Would you get an aircooled 250w MH light and digital ballast to run with a 600w HPS? Or get a dual spec 600w bulb for owned lite?

Are these options better than just running an MH or HPS ?

My first think is more is better and 250 MH wont jack temps (air cooled inline/ booster fan), not that bad electric.....

Any info on dual spec HID as I just beginning to research....

Iv heard a lot about Hortilux, I on the other hand opted for a chepo and still like it...Wont be long and there will be quite a few ideas for you.

I run the 600W Ushio Super HPS and love it.

I have only 8 auto grows and have always ran MH/HPS on my photos but on every grow I have noticed that every time I swap from MH to HPS they slump for about a week. I am on my third breeder and every strain has reacted exactly the same. Maybe it is just me but I won't be running my MH any longer on Autos, not to swap over in the grow anyways. Just a heads up from that perspective. I know you said you would run both and that is probably the best idea if you opt for MH.

I also ran the Hortilux but they quit warrantying them with my digi ballast so I haven't purchase any more. I never had a problem but I figured if it was serious enough for them to quit warrantying them then I wasn't going to use them.

The red is definitely more important for Autos. Especially ones that sex in 13 days haha. Good things to think about :tiphat:

Damn just noticed most dual are 1000w, 600hps + 400mh. That would mean new ballast, more cost and more watts used than adding a 250, hmmm

600w dual spec? Anyone seen?

I run dual spec HPS right now. Its really good from start to finish. Some girl are showed preflowering signs around day 20.
