New Grower 1st hydro grow

That plant needs nutrients from day 1. It will not have anywhere near enough energy to grow roots to reach the reservoir without nutrients.

If you aerate your water for a day or two it will hep precipitate some of the calcium carbonate before you mix your nutrients. This helps stabilize the PH. It will drift some over time no matter what.

is ther calcium in Ro water my water comes 0ec. i would o figured rockwool would be drier but its just as wet after 20 hours ill increase the heat do i can feed her nutes

I did not realize you were using RO water it should not creep on you like that? What kind of nutrients are you using? Perhaps you did not get it stabilized when mixing? I always check back after 30 minutes or so.

Can you show pictures of what you are doing? You need to top water in the net pots to encourage the roots to grow down into the reservoir. Then stop top watering after the roots about 1 inch in the res. to prevent crown rot.

i think i added to much ph up snd down and didnt give it a second. the water level in my dwc is right at the bottom of my 6in net pot but the rockwool is at the top. its a 1 inch plug root hasnt left plug yet i figure a couple days and it should be ok ill have to mess with the water level tomorrow and make it a little higher. i think the rockwool plug was damaged because when i wet it and weighed it, it was 31grams that was 27 hours ago. i checked on it now and its 29.7 grams the other one i was testing was 26 full and 19 in the same time. and she keeps looking droopy like shes overwater so i gently removed it and put her in a fresh plug that i didnt squeeze so instead of 29 grams of water she is 23 grams. im going to leave her alone until tomorrow....and then ill raise my control bucket up an inch and that should give me me water line about an inch into the pot.

Can you see me shaking my head? Never even look inside like you did the other day and transplanting out of a cube ................... :yoinks: Do Not Do It!

Too late I guess. see the little root hairs in the picture every time you move that root you rip off the lateral root hairs and send the plant into shock and expose the roots to pathogens; like cutting your fingers and toes off and dig around in a refuse pile to see if you can catch something.

Get some proper Net Pots Current Culture 5.5 with shelf.

Then you place the rapid rooter, rock wool starter etc. on the shelf and place PH balanced Hydroton (not the cheap ones that screw with your PH) Get the good ones and place around it to keep it up-right. Install it on the reservoir and top water continuously until the roots reach the reservoir.
