New Grower 1st Grow Journal - Massive Midget and Candy Kush - Start May 29, 2015

Looking good man, very interesting as im now considering a hemp bucket and led combo for my next grow.
Also nice as this was started around the same time as my current grow.

June 12th:

Watered both girls this am with 1/4 Nutes. Dumped a bit of the res off before watering.
Candy Kush 10th day in the bucket. She is pushing up now and two new sets of leaves coming, but suspect her tap still has not hit rez.
Here she is:

Massive Midget is 5th Day in the bucket. Pushing out another sets of leaves it seems.

Looks like the MM has a little burn on one leaf. I splashed a tiny bit of solution on her yesterday, immediately rinsed it with distilled water. Should this worry me? Close up shot below:

That's a good way to put it. I've resolved not to chase it, but it's hard to ignore. i just wish i understood the chemistry going on that so quickly dumps what when in at 5.5 out at 7+.
The only thing i can think of is the perlite/verm. is holding on to more nutes than water
therefore raising ph.
Makes sense to me.
Check the ppm of your run off,it should be less than what you put in if this ^^^ is the case.

Hey Guys-

Looking for some feedback on my Massive Midget, which seems to have some issues (see pics below)

June 14th:
1/4 Strength feed to both CK and MM.

June 15th:
Candy Kush day 13 in the bucket. Definitely some progress, forming it's 3rd node and looking healthy. Hoping see some real growth starting this week.

Massive Midget day 8 in the bucket. Second set of leaves well established. A
little concerned with the small yellow spots on the new leaves coming in. Not spider mites, i've checked. Anyone know what this may be? Fear i'm killing this girl already.

Yellow spots on 2nd set of leaves of Massive Midget. Any ideas what this could be?

June 16th:
CK: Day 14 in Bucket, starting seeing some real growth now, 3rd node started. Suspect it hit res.
MM: Day 9 in the bucket. Suspect it's reaching for res still. Yellow spots on first leaves have me a little worried. May have Nute burned it by feeding too soon.

Fed 1/4 Strength Nutes to both Candy Kush and Massive Midget.

Not sure its nute burn mate. Kinda looks like a ph fluctuation problem? Im far from an expert though. You could post in the live help thread for some expert advice. Keep us updated mate

Thanks mate. Got some help over in the infirmary from @Waira and @GoAuto6 The fracking pH is too high. Spent all day trying to manage it and did a nice weak nutes at a consistent pH, then re-pH'd and run back through. Literally like 10 times!. Doing exactly what i said i wouldn't, chasing pH. Argh. Hopefully she bounces back. The Kush seems to be blasting off though and looks healthy. Will update with photos tomorrow! Next grow is definitely going to be perlite only.

Cheers Friends~

June 18:
Candy Kush day 17
Massive Midget day 12.
Added some fresh h2o to the res, re-ph'd and recirculated in an effort to drop pH still. In at 5.2-5.3, runoff at 6.3. getting better. I'm certain it's a rogue batch of vermiculite. I will flush these everyday if i have to in order to manage this issue. You live and learn. No vermiculite next time.

The CK has definitely hit res. 2nd set of 3 coming in. Vertical growth almost to lip of bucket now.

New center growth on MM looks to be ok. It's definitely stalled finding the res though and whatever issue it is having with pH. i do see a bit of vertical growth.

Tomorrow I will feed again. 1/4 strength for the Massive Midget, 1/2 strength for the Candy Kush.

Some crap weather the past couple of day so the girls have been indoors mostly.

Candy Kush is looking great, things should start picking up pace very soon. Hopefully you get some good weather soon so the girls get some good ol vitamin D.

Sucks your having issues with the vermiculite but looks like you've got it sorted.

Peace
