Hell yes - glad ya asked ! :pass:
Simulate a natural environment as much as possible! When you use appropriate color spectrums , your allowing your plant to use it's energy and time as efficiently as possible. Veg spectrum simulates spring / early summer sun light - cuing your plants to veg out and start stock piling fuel/food for buds. Then when you switch to your flower spectrum it simulates the late summer early fall harvest sun (ever notice the particularly red hue to sunlight in fall?
That being said - Autos can be grown to completion from seed under either spectrum, with varying results, but they seem to benefit most from age appropriate spectrum's. I've heard of a member here running blue lights and turning out nice plants....
Me personally - I run a mixture of both through out, with the higher end going to the age appropriate spectrum. This stuff is so fun to talk about and think about ! If I understood your entry - your girls will be getting some natural light through the fogged glass ? Perhaps ya could run the 65k all the way and the sunlight will balance things out nicely. :2cents: :greenthumb: :bump:

Thanks for the informative input. I'll post pictures to help clarify the layout and specifics at some point in the next few days.

A couple of notes I'd ask you to consider and weigh in on....

The plants will be spending time:

1. On my window sill under the CFL's. Window is lightly frosted but a very sunny deep window sill in the afternoon for about 4-5 hours.

2. On my balcony, which is right next to the window sill. The balcony gets direct sun from around 8:30am to 5:30pm, with about a 90 minute break for the sun to pass over a neighbors tree.

So, if it's nice out, i'll put them outside all day and then move them to the sill for some extra l;right love from 5:30pm til about 9 or 10pm, then back out onto the balcony each day. i also will be able to move the buckets on the balcony to keep in full sun pretty much.

When it's not nice out (too windy, too overcast, too hot) i'll keep them on the sill under the CFL's.

With this added info, would you recommend that i use a mix of the spectrums on the window sill throughout? Knowing that i'll be moving them in and out and they will be getting varying light temperatures anyway?

Thanks Tetra!

You should do just great running the 65k throughout. Sounds like it's basically supplemental lighting anyways.

No pops yet. Today is day 4 since i've put the beans in the pellets. The weather has turned unseasonably cold where I am and i am getting a little concerned they won't pop. Fingers crossed.

Question....how long after you plant and they don;t pop do you give up on seeds?

i have more, and some more on the way, so I'm not crushed if i lose them, but would love to know if any of you had beans take 5+ days to pop?

I moved the beans to the top of the cable box, underneath a plastic vented strawberry lid. Moistened the pellets a bot more today. Looks like the Candy Kush is starting to poke through!

I gave up on my first seeds after 10 days.
Here's what your Kandy Kush (is it C or K for candy?) will look like in about 80-90 days:

Happy farming!
NIIIICE!

My Kush popped out over night and is official. I peeked in on the MM and it seems to be started, but not pushing yet. Will give it another day or two before i plant a back up massive midget. Actually, hoping my Nothern Lights Autos show up this week, maybe will try one of them.

Ok, both popped for reals overnight. The one on left is the massive Midget. I'm a little concerned on this one. Looks a little brown? The Kush is in the right of the pic, looking nice.

:d5::woohoo: Awesome ! Maybe let the brownish one dry out a bit ehh? Now that theyre up they love for their medium to dry out a bit, that and some light air will get things cracking nicely! Congrats, hope they're girls!
