So I rub it with rubbing alcohol and just let it sit? Do I use a rag or cotton ball, never heard of this before

Unless you are planning on throwing it out please don’t use ISO, as it is poisonous. I don’t care how much you let it evaporate there will still be hydrocarbons left in product. Use something like 150 proof vodka or even better some Everclear. I have a mason jar with everclear in it and I drop my grinder parts in it a couple times a year. The alcohol melts all the resins and preserves it in the alcohol. I clean my Arizer vape parts in it as well. You could let this alcohol evaporate and not worry about what you are leaving in the oil that will be left behind when you are done.

Drop them in there for about five minutes or however long you want, doesn’t hurt to go long. I’m assuming your grinder is stainless steel with no plastic/rubber parts or hand painted design that might melt or come off?

Then you can take your grinder back out and anything good will be left in the alcohol. I would seal it up and leave it for next time you want to clean up some resin or hash. I’ve known folks that leave it so long the THCa converts to THC and some under the tongue will give you a nice buzz. :smoking:

See, another good thing about growing your own, you can grow enough to play around with making edibles, drinks, tonics, salves, and all manner of cannabis items.

The everclear will melt all keef/resins/trichs or dammed well should. It will then be suspended in the alcohol, your pieces should come out relatively clean. You can let this build up over time, evaporate off the alcohol and smoke remaining oil.

I wash one ounce of bud in a 1/2 gallon of everclear, then distill and recapture the alcohol, leaving 4-6g of some very smokable oil. Add a couple drops of real terpenes to a gram of this and you can drop it in a vape pen.

I said you would have to evaporate the alcohol to retrieve that keif, which would then be basically an oil. It won’t be that much, which is why I recommended letting it build up over time. This is just a quick way to clean up your grinder and not waste the product that might still be in your grinder.

To evaporate it,I just let it sit open ? I'm trying the grinder afterwards.
