This is day 31 except the 3 GWKs are day 28. Just slowly cruising along. The cold temps in Feb (coldest on record in 40 years here) still carried in to March but things are finally warming up now. But its been tough on the ladies of the tent and I think it shows how they are a little behind. But nothing major. I spent the last week doing a little LST on the secondaries and things are set now for flowering. All have nice preflowers and a couple have some small white pistils starting to show. And there is some stretch happening too for a couple.

I switched to top watering full strength MC. No more bottom dunking. Doing about 2 cups three times per day. Going for the frequent watering of coco in 1g containers. I turned off the humidifier which was being used to maintain 65-70% RH. I can see some rust on poles now from that. But no mold. So without high RH they started to drink a little more which is what I wanted to see.

Previous week and current week shots.

Looking good from my view.

Everything looks great, I envy those Grapey Walters looking so full. And ya those cold temps were murder, I almost need to insulate the two walls in my room for next year or find a new strategy as I'm sure that's what slowed it down so much.

I think you guys further South aren't getting hit today but we are getting a wallop of snow right now it's crazy! But it's fairly warm so I'm fine with the snow :snow1:

Insulation helps. I put about 8 inches of loose pink batting on the roof of my tent. I want to get some rigid foam insulation for the side walls over this summer to be ready for next winter. Also I'm going to watch kijiji for used 100 lb propane tanks and a Mr Heater and use that next year to heat the garage the tent is in so hopefully it will be warmer and the electrical bill is greatly reduced.

Great ideas!! I have my tents in the house but it's still freaking cold. Those sheets of the foam insulation would be great to just put up on the walls even. Got some tinkering projects for next year now.

My grandfathers name was walter. I am always having a heart tug when I see "Grapey Walter". Maybe I will do those next.

My tent is in the house too, but my heat only goes up to about 68 upstairs in the winter. I think I might bring the tent downstairs next winter where the temps are more like 70-71.

Upstairs is cold in winter and hot in summer. I dont have a HVAC unit up there yet. I am not in the mood to battle HIGH temps in the tent this summer. I have no room downstairs to put the tent though...but sick of battling temps. I noticed the minute I got some babies into an 80 degree tent they did so much better!

Looking great lunar man, let me know how the top watering goes. Oh, the horror, top watering....:yoinks:

Do you have an inline exhaust fan? If you do, and can exhaust outside, you might be able to keep your temps in check upstairs in the summer. And if you run just a couple of autocobs but off during the day and on a night that might help you.

I actually like top watering! Its fun. Still using the scale though. Just to give you a ref point this is day 31 and the girls are drinking about 2 cups in the morning, mid afternoon and again later in the evening. So 6 cups now. And I keep the weight at 1600g min to 2000g max. Working really well I have to say. I dont miss those stupid autopots, thats for sure!!!! :shooty:

when I watered my 1g pots they maxed out at about 1700g. So you think I should wait till say 1300-1400 to dunk for now?....I love the autopots UNTIL they mess up and someone gets over or under watered!...I am still not ready to give them up. I will put these 1g pots on the res in the big girls tent in about a week and see how it works. going to see what I can do to keep temps about at least 75 in there, but the ladies sure seem to be digging 80 degrees.

Pretty sure your pots are the same as mine. You coco might be different (weight, density) though. For me at that age I'd let them reduce to 1200 and water them until they hit 1400. And it increases every couple of days. I was adding about 100g every two days. So after two days I would let them get down to 1300 and water up to 1500. But really you should use that meter and get a pot watered so that you're not too wet and not two dry and then weigh it and that's your high water mark. And for me low water mark is 200-300 grams less than that and then its time to water. I was doing that like once or maybe twice a day at your plants age. Now I'm doing it 3 times per day because they are older and drinking more.

Sounds great. I have my meter here. I am going to dip the ladies for about another week and then see if i can get them in the tent on the res. Thanks again for all your help and hanging in there with me!
