Hey bro the plants are looking good . I find that when lst is applied and the branches start growing out of the nodes i lst the leaves at the node of the branches under the growing branches.
And also whilst tying down the main stem i twist the stem to let both sides of the node get light.

'Carpe diem et fumum veriditas'

Ok, that twisting sounds pretty much like a high end finesse LST trick. Nice manipulation idea.

I am surprised you understand how i explained it . I did it once to a sour liver but i lost it early in flower

I think I do understand. This is similar right? This is an accidental twist though.

Just thought I’d share an idea I stumbled across......

I started training with the cleaners and spent money on the green tie down rope and they worked, pain but worked .....

OldBoy now does different way, for me anyways ..... I use 7” aluminum tent pegs, check it out ..... they slip right on and are easy to weigh down a branch, just add more pegs as and where needed, little weight at a time .... give it a try next time, worked for my girls, they all love it .....

Look how Cola is tied down, pegs slipped opposite sides and gently pulled forward and secured for awhile .... no damage to leaves whatsoever with the super smooth aluminum and no chance of any nasties being harbored in pipe cleaner ....

Here’s Gold Glue, early on being trained sideways while she bushes out, which she has ....Peg is hung over fabric pot and side of container pushed down, weight held for 4-5 hours and then she was released but coulda added a second peg to keep longer ....

I noticed your pegs in the pictures before. Looks like a totally workable way of doing it. I have used some garden stakes before which is similar. They can do a good job of getting the main stem to go horizontal.

I do like using my pipe cleaner though. And clothes pins for leaf tucking. Its been working for me. Getting it all dialed in. LST is one of the funner parts for me. LST is a hands on practical lab experience. LST shows results fast. The objective is simple. Puts you up close and personal with the plants. And..... it can make for more potent product, more yield and less effort at harvesting.

This is basically the method I'm rolling with right now.
  1. This was the first LST started on day 15 going to about day 24. Thats the main cola stem that was bent back to one side of the pot close to horizontal. The anchor point is high now but it was lower before. It was hard to get the bend of the stem in that picture from this angle. But its a good bend. you can see where its circled in red pencil.
  2. This was done later after the main stem. Its pulling a secondary away from the main stem just to spread the canopy to the front since most is at the back from step 1.
  3. And these were done a couple of days later and are just pulling out secondary sides from the center to create space.
  4. Finally its the clothes pins that do a great leaf tuck that will stay in place as long as you need it.

Good stuff - Visual helps tremendously and I too still use pipe cleaners but not nearly as often, usually at the start .....

What I find in the plants, so far, like Strawberry and Gold Glue, not a lot of training required .... and even three bears although I wished I’d held her cola down, hardly did anything now she has a tall cola forming but symmetrical nonetheless with about nine outside bud sites all about same height, cola up 5-6 inches, oops ..... going to try and hold cola down now but gently ....

Now Sam’s Crack horse of different color, I held her cola 20ish days, she grew sideways ...... pretty even canopy at day 39ish.

Best of grows!

:pass:

I use 8 or 10 gauge solid coated wire for my little bit of training. You can cut the pieces and bend them to whatever size/shape you need. Ive seen others on here that use the same. I also use grill skewers if I want to relocate/position a branch. They have a circle on the end that allows the branch to slide thru as it grows.

This is day 31 except the 3 GWKs are day 28. Just slowly cruising along. The cold temps in Feb (coldest on record in 40 years here) still carried in to March but things are finally warming up now. But its been tough on the ladies of the tent and I think it shows how they are a little behind. But nothing major. I spent the last week doing a little LST on the secondaries and things are set now for flowering. All have nice preflowers and a couple have some small white pistils starting to show. And there is some stretch happening too for a couple.

I switched to top watering full strength MC. No more bottom dunking. Doing about 2 cups three times per day. Going for the frequent watering of coco in 1g containers. I turned off the humidifier which was being used to maintain 65-70% RH. I can see some rust on poles now from that. But no mold. So without high RH they started to drink a little more which is what I wanted to see.

Previous week and current week shots.
