Sawney Bean Grow Shows 2023 Bob's first go at a SOG - Sawney's SOS grown in BioTabs

Sawney Bean Grow Shows 2023
@N/A-Greengo, :thanks: for the rep buddy :pass:

looks fantastic mate. The larger pheno will have more of a cheese leaning side to it . Yummmm. Keep up the good work mate , love it.
Never had a good cheese before, so I'm very curious about the taste :chef: I can tell you that I really like the smell when opening the tent. But then again, I was a fan of Skunk from day one, so :cool1:
I'm doing my best, read on below mate :baby:

Great pics, great plants Bobby boy....lovely frosty ladies man, I love 'em haha.....you have some great under-leaf shots there bro...I love the way the trichs follow the veins, great job :bighug: :worship:
Thanks buddy!! Coming from you, really means a lot :toke:

Did I mention I'm colorblind you guys? Well, just noticed some issues with some of the ladies, mainly the smaller pheno ladies which are located in the middle of the tray. Yesterday I was already thinking about the amount of light I was giving and today after seeing them in person again I decided to lower the light output from 60% to 45%, lowering the DLI from approx. 52 to 46 ish...This also lowered the VPD, but I'm going to let that roll for a couple of days. Why will become clear in a moment...
1680111978173 _small.jpg

But before I noticed the issue I first made up 2.5L of the remaining water from the day before yesterday, 10ml Orgatrex and 10ml Bio PK 5-8
1680109411877 _small.jpg

And divided it over the pots.
1680109411880 _small.jpg

This one looks nice and really frosty. just like someone dusted it with icing sugar
1680109411873 _small.jpg

But these ladies in the middle are showing signs of to much light. The tops are looking way to light and dried out...So lowering the light is the way to go. I might even give these ladies some dark-time again. What do you guys think?
1680109411865 _small.jpg

Today only a gif, but as you can see, the difference between the last picture and the previous one is remarkable. VPD was around 1.28 today and think this was to early and to much. So, the lower VPD will give the ladies some "breathing" room and prevent those leaves from curling any further. :pop:

Look good to me mate only a little over feed on one or two but it's bound to happen with a bunch of plants . Still perfect if you ask me :pighug:
What your thought about the light? Ok to lower it a bit? Should I give them some dark time as well?

S.o.S. - Day 52
What your thought about the light? Ok to lower it a bit? Should I give them some dark time as well?
I decided upon giving the ladies some dark time. Four hours every day the light goes out and the extraction fan is turned on high.
The light is still at about the same level and VPD is back at 1.14-1.18kPa as I feel this is a bit more gentile to the plants...Have to make sure though, to keep that humidity below 60% or risk mold...:gassy:
Because of the higher temperature in the lung room the yeast based co² generator is pushing out double the amount that is normally available, resulting in 1000ppm :coffee:
1680375094378 _small.jpg

There's been some K-def visible on certain plants because I didn't want to overdo it. Just let the ladies do their thing, but these ladies are hungry...
1680374716292 _small.jpg

...So I yesterday morning I brewed myself some PK Booster Compost tea, same recipe as before, but without the dilution. Tonight I took 5L with me to the tent, added another 20ml of Orgatrex to the bucket and let it bubble further until the ladies need another drink.
1680374716277 _small.jpg

This was the plant that showed me that there was trouble in paradise. When I saw the shriveled leaf I knew there was something wrong. Those dried up spots will never recover, but then...we're not growing leaves now are we :eyebrows:
1680374716274 _small.jpg

Looking at the leaves now, I'm sure I've nipt the deficiency in the 'bud' Just have to keep feeding them and making sure I don't overwater in the meantime... Live and learn, right?
1680374716271 _small.jpg

Out of 15 plants, there's three large pheno girls that have amazingly large trichomes. The effect is clearly like someone dusted them with icing sugar. If @Sawney_bean allows it, I would gladly throw a toss at going further with this pheno
1680374716268 _small.jpg

This one is a prime example of that selected pheno! The frost is just amazing and we're still have some serious expansion to look out for, in the near future.
1680374716258 _small.jpg

One of the smaller pheno ladies. She is one large cola with several satellites in the making, my friends!!
Keeping the TS-1000 at 50 instead of 60%, tempers the amount of energy reaching those ladies in the center of the tray. I do feel that I'm at the limit for this moment, until I order my inline filter and I can remove the table and so create some more space between the light and plants. Approx. 40cm / 16" will be gained by doing that.
1680374716255 _small.jpg

This lady is not nearly finished...The bud will more then double in size as all the calyx's swell up in despair of being pollinated :woohoo1:
1680374716253 _small.jpg

This lady shows the K-def with all them dark spots on the lighter leaves. As I said before, I feel I have it under control, but know that these ladies are heavy feeders. So if you want fat buds, be sure to subscribe to feederfansite.proboards.com and buckle up :stir:
1680374716246 _small.jpg

No comment :kitty:
1680374716242 _small.jpg

You just wait until those calyx's swell up :shooty:
1680374716236 _small.jpg

As promised I've kept selecting those time lapse pictures for the gif. We're a couple days in and expansion is definitely happening...
BoomBoomSpray3-day7.gif

And to finish up this post...Another time lapse. Duration = approx. 4 days, speed = 60fps. Please enjoy :thanks:

Bob :toke:

S.o.S. - Day 54
Hey Friends,

No special update or anything. Been feeding these ladies the remainder of the tea I made, these last few days...
1680548276213 _small.jpg

Growth has stopped completely and one can notice these ladies are finishing up before winter comes :cooldance:
1680548276150 _small.jpg

Opening the tent is always an amazing experience. The terpenes are sweet and vanilla like...Except when I brush against the stems, then a more lemony smell is released. The two don't match, but experience tells us that the lemony terps will go away with drying and curing.
1680548276136 _small.jpg

Frost is building up nicely on these girls... Yum!! :coffee:
1680548276154 _small.jpg

Swell up my pretties!!! Mohahaha:fire:
1680548276158 _small.jpg

This one in the back is the worst. She's also the largest of the group and is sitting very close to the light. None the less she's producing some very nice buds, even with the load of crispy leaves she already has.
1680548276175 _small.jpg

And the girls in the middle of the tray, the 'Small' pheno plants, are recovering fine from the K-def. These are also expanding more rapidly then the larger pheno ladies, resembling a bud on a stick :eyebrows:
1680548276185 _small.jpg

While some of the larger pheno ladies will be ready in approx. one to two weeks, these smaller pheno's will most likely need a week more, looking at those pistils...What do you think @Sawney_bean?
1680548276190 _small.jpg

The values inside the tent are also very stable and the last two days or so I didn't had to adjust the extraction, even after watering the ladies.
Ok, I don't water as much and rather water every day a little then do one large soaking every two days out of easy, like when they were in full growth. So today I gave them about 1L tea divided over these 15 pots...

Looking good mate . Depending on how you like you're flowers depends its picking time.
Sea of green gives you the option to try early flowers so I would recommend cutting one you think is looking special. The terps and cannabinoid levels on premature buds can be delightful.

@N/A-Greengo & @St. Tom, thanks for the rep you guys!! Much appreciated

You are really testing my endurance mate!! My jars are all empty and I'm running on edibles, which is touch and go with the dosages, lol
But.....Sigh, I'm going to wait at least one more week and then we'll talk :drunks:
