Okay, here is week two of my SSH and wwxxl. Had an issue with my first SSH and started a new one.
I have been sewing directly into my Coco and I think that sometimes it might be a little dry in that first quarter inch layer and I have experienced about a 75% success rate with this method. That's down from about a 95% success rate with my old method. But, I'm going to stick with this method cuz I like the idea I think I just need to make sure I have a nice even moist medium when it goes in and it's well covered with a cup.
put a small amount of worm castings in the center of the pot and plant your seed in that. Then keep it moist using a spray bottle a couple times a day if you can. You'll be surprised how fast seeds sprout in worm castings! It will also inoculate the soil with beneficial mircolife. The micros may not survive the nute but they'll be there long enough to give your plant a jump start!
Well, I must say, I'm disappointed so far. This plant is in the exact same soil as them other new plants in the cab. Normally, my seedlings are as wide as the pot and ready for transplant by day 10. we're at day 17! don't know what the problem is but I seriously don't believe it was op error! She is starting to grow finally though, but I don't have much hope of her amounting to anything. I'll start another soon.
