Hello All - I would like to pop my AFN cherry properly and get a grow journal on the go.

Seed: Mimosa Lemon Auto - Expert Seeds
Tent: 1x1x2mtr BudBox
System: Wilma 4pot XL with 18ltr plastic pots (which I have drilled)
Light: Kroptek HiKrop 360w at the wall - full spectrum LED

Environment:
Hygger res heater
2x 60w tube heaters
Rhino pro carbon filter
InkBird heat controller
GAS EC1 fan/heat controller
Boyu air pump for airstones

Nutrients:
- Growth Technology, Green Haze - Grow and bloom A&B
- Tribus, promotes rhizobacteria
- GG mono-silic
- Formulex
- Buddha’s Tree Advanced Meta Boost
- Buddha’s Tree PK 9-18
- Remo velokelp (I only use for foliage pre-training/abuse
- Terra Aquatica Calcium Magnes

it seems like there is a lot but it is obviously all used at different times - e.g once the baby is in her stride she only really gets grow A&B touch of Advanced meta boost, and a drop of silicon - and of course Calmag.

Medium:
Canna Coco pro with clay pebbles at about 60/40

The seed went in to an H2O2 bath about 15 minutes ago - once it sinks she will be put in to a root riot cube soaked in weak solution Formulex in a propogator. I have about two weeks to keep this seed out of the final tent so she will be in the drying tent under a little LED until she is moved.

the reason being currently the tent and Wilma set up means I can only have 4 plants running at any one time. As of today I have a Jack Here auto which is about 2 weeks away from chop, 2x Sweet Bourbon Auto Kush and a Creme De la Chem x Sour stomper So tent is full.

That’s all for today, I shall be back once the tap root shows.
Take care all and happy growing

rollox
Rollox said McDonald the Mimosa looks like a no show - that will teach me :cuss:
Really not sure why - the same method I always use, one of those things I suppose. So then I now have to dig around to see what is up next - I get the feeling it maybe something from Barneys Farm...Update in a couple of days after I have decided and it has come up.
Recently I have been reading about a chap who germs his seeds in a very different way to me - so I am going to try that and see if it works for me as I have had a few no shows since returning to growing and growing only autos now.
A bed of worm castings in a non heated prop - soak the castings until all are damp - lay the seeds on the castings, cover - place on a heat mat - he does 50 at a time and they seem to all pop up. Will try it and document it when the worm castings show up.

In the meantime here is my current Grow
Top left ---> clockwise
Jack Herer Auto, planted 11/12/21 (SeedsMan)
Sweet Bourbon Auto Kush, planted 11/01/22 (Super Sativa Seed Club)
Sweet Bourbon Auto Kush, planted 11/01/22 (Super Sativa Seed Club)
Creme De La Chem x Forum Stomper, planted 11/02/22 (Mephisto Genetics)
75BD6E17-2EA8-4127-AFA0-9FCF36EAD71E.jpeg

In fact sod it, I always have between 2 to 4 running, so I will just keep this journal rolling. I shall work out a way to update how the above plants got to where they have and take it from there

Cheers all

a wee update
Hello again you lovelies - I hope everyone is well!

First of all, I would very much like to say thank you to the beauties we have on here - so very helpful and generous!

Just a quick catch up to get up to speed properly, as they are growing fast now so the changes are apparent daily.

The Jack Herer is bulking out. The plant has had the shitiest of lives, poor little lass. I germed 3 seeds, 2 Northern Lights Auto from Seedsman and 1 Jack Herer, they all come up (amazingly) the two NL were growing like crazy, very healthy etc... the JH sort of stopped growing about a week in to flower, buy this time the NL had just kept on growing and were eating up the whole tent - I thought I would just kill off the JH to make space for the two NL which would take up the whole tent space and looked great - During this time I stopped watering the JH completely for about a week-->10 days, the NL still showed no sign of flowering and had just gotten to large for the space 1l x 1w x 2h. Read a little about the NL from seedsman and they tend to do this so I cut them down and threw them both on the compost, planted the two Sweet Bourbon Auto Kush, and 10 days later the Mephisto seed. So that brings us to today.
The NL has been living in a drought but has come back to life, she looks really crap and her buds are small - amazingly they are very dense and smell absolutely grand, very piney and fresh - I hope it keeps that through last few weeks and drying/curing.

And here she is:

Oh I nearly forgot, I had to pop to Portugal for a week, so made a McGuyver style wick system until the Blumat classic arrived to feed her - she really has had the crapiest of times. This said, check out my McGuyver A-team wick system :smoking:

Anyway, this is why she is like she is.

Next up we have the SBAK's - they had a random start to life, the day after their taps showed and I popped them in to rootit cube, my partner reminded I had to go and visit my parents that weekend - they were far to small and frail to stay at home alone. So I packed them up in their prop - drove 200 miles to the south coast arrived at the AirBnB and plugged them back in. In the meantime the nutrient solution I had made was forgotten at home, so the following morning I had to find a hydro shop, grab some PH down and some Canna Start to keep them alive. Stayed down there for a week, drove 200 miles home and plugged them back in again - they are very well travelled ladies...bit bastard glitzy if you ask me for a rooted plant to see the world like that.

Generally both the SBAK have bee doing ok, they were incredibly slow to start but have really come in to their own over the past week or so - you can see their growth over their life below: 1 has been topped, the other not - the topped plant is the healthier of the two, the other is growing very well but has CalMag issues which is frustrating as they are running from the same res, upped the CalMAg which helped but not enough, the garden has to look better...note to self, become a better grower...

SBAK's - this was during their early life excursion to the south coast

Right then, right then - for those with superior vision you may have very well spotted that I did not manage to complete the update yesterday.
It was one of those things - A dab, followed by another, followed by a sofa...the rest as they say is histoire.

So then, following on from the update part 1 this is part 2 - the final few snaps of the 2 SBAK's to bring them up to date and then the sad tale of the Mephisto bean that has not been so magic yet...

Back to the SBAK's

So that brings these two up to date, image wise - they are both doing well now - the last 24 they have perked up like our esteemed leader Boris after a visit to the Bugle baths.

I wont put up any pics of the CDLCxFS from Mephisto - I get the feeling my tales of woe and trauma may well cause some of you to commence a long prescribed course of tequila in order for you to forget about my strife.

The little blighter started life grand, until it stopped going grand - I would say it was the move from the cosy confines of a propagator to the tent - it pretty much stalled out for a couple of weeks. It was planted 10 days after the SBAKs and as you can she looks like the kind of lass that can expect a visit from the Stella Artois warriors - really a sad sight. but no, I would not give up on her, so I just left her, hand watered for a week, reattached to the Wilma system then prayed to a multitude of deities in the hope that my prayers are answered. After being struck down and called a heathen I held my ground and the little lady has got back on her horse and started trotting along - yay

So then, one and all - I am now up to speed (well in my mind anyway) and from now I shall stop disturbing your happy lives with my stories of woe - the transformation is now complete - happy days from here on in.

Just incase:
Temps: 22 -->26
RH: 35-->45% (as dry as.....)
Res temp - 22
EC for Wilma system 1.6
EC for JH being wicked. via a blumat classic - 2.2

I bid you all a pleasant week and happy growing

Sawney’s Beans to be added
Hello all, I am incredibly blessed to have been provided some of the @Sawney_bean wizardry and Today shall mark they day their skulls got wet!
661CA3BA-CE2F-43B4-BFDB-DEE421A6654E.jpeg

Based on having no space ‘‘twas a wonder I decided to go for gold, so this is what happens now….
The tent running outside will finish off what’s in there, as with the Wilma set up it can only take four plants.
The four I have just got into water will go in this little bastard I found in the garage roof.
39D365FF-791E-4ACE-85B4-68B129C4F896.jpeg

So, inside the mini tent there is a heated prop which is unplugged, this will keep some distance from the heat mat to the actual seeds and from testing looks like it sits at circa 22 day and night with a little vent open.
I also found a little starter LED light so hung that in there, and hey presto we have a place to get going.
F8F2EA85-FBBF-46F5-90CE-C741CB5C1E4F.jpeg

I also dig up an unused Rhino pro carbon filter and mini extractor fan which I will put in place once the seeds pop (fingers crossed)

I have a question for you fine people:
What is the best way of running small pots to control height and auto watered if possible - I have a tendency to scamper away to different coordinates for a few days at a time meaning it must water itself.
I am thinking a low living soil bed taking up the full floor space to it provides cubic capacity if soil for the roots which can be fed with plain water on a blumat. Does that sound acceptable - i have only ever grown in coco in all my days so soil is scary and living soil with things moving around is even scarier, I spent my life keeping bugs out with this it’s the opposite.
Alternatively, if timed well, I could get a four in four out going which would be preferred and for the time away use a few blumat classics as a wick to keep the babies going.
All thoughts and inputs welcome

Thanks all and take care

You never know there maybe more
Top genetics do help those special people like me get the show on the road

Yay, germination does actually happen
So then, so then, so then - It bloody worked. Thanks for your help Sawney :worship:
They were put in the prop 48 hours ago (pretty much bang on...) and as of now - we have 6 of the 8 have tap root either showing, or showing off.

Chuffed :woohoo1:

Just warming up the soil in the mini pots to get them in to a medium - I do expect to grab a new tent in a couple of days for the Lambs as what they are in is too short - a lovely pain in the ass to have, I get to buy toys - not sure what yet, but will expect to grab 150mm Phresh EC, LED from Kroptek, and to save setting up another Wilma (which has been my method of choice for over 15yrs) will go for Ecothrive Soil which I have still boxed in the garage from a previous "good idea" :eek1:, tent size will be 1x1x1.8 I expect, the BudBox I have now is shit, the worst tent I have ever used, weak, flimsy and about as light proof as an LED bulb.Hopefully I can find the Secret Jardin DR100, which is my favorite.

If all 4 Nugz2 come up, I will keep them in the tent they are in - and as a stoner with an inability to have my own ideas, I shall ungraciously copy @hope2grow and of course @Sawney_bean with size pot and soil choice.

So essentially what has happened (or just about to) is, added a tent for germination with the aim of a better success rate, a tent will be procured for the Lambs will run 3 or 4 and let them stretch in 18ltr or maybe larger pots. From 1 to 3 in the blink of an eye, it is a grand old job that I decided to take a Sabbatical from work a while back so I have plenty of time on my hands for now.

Clearly this is not the right thing to do, I see everybody selecting their go forwards plant during the early days of progression and binning the rest - but sod, I got some seeds to sprout so I am going to bloody grow em'

Anyway, not sure if I mentioned....but I am as chuffed as a womble strolling around the common :gary:

oooo, just been playing with my microscope will update that in a tad

Take care all

Playing with Microscope
I can get enough of this stupid little gadget - my ability to take normal pictures is outstandingly horrific, so my attempts with a microscope are I would suggest anywhere in the region of 17.6 and 22.24% worse.

This is the Jack Herer - generally clear and cloudy, with the odd amber - still time for this lass
