Three [3] seeds did not show tap roots from the 36+ hour water soak, so were thrown into ICU with the tried and proven paper towel method.

36 hours later, and of those 3, only 1 has shown signs of life.
That has now been placed under The Dome and will [hopefully] feature in future photos sessions.

The other two appear to have flatlined, but will be shown a further 48 hours of mercy, to either show life, or condemn themselves to the seed scrap heap.

HUMIDITY: ... 90%RH
LIGHT: ... 1 x COB strip with 4 x Cree CBX3590

Yesterday there were 11 above ground.
The ICU baby from the Paper Towel was added.

Waiting for the new toys to arrive this week [hopefully]

Should include some new lights;

Looking at doing a side-by-side comparison.

2 plants with 1,2m x 0,6m ScrOG net
1 plant with 1.2m x 0.6m ScrOG net
2 plants non-ScrOG

5 plants per side of tent; 10 plants in total.

One side to run Cree CBX 3590 COBs
One side to run Ceramic Metal Halide lights.

DAY 3

TEMP: ... 23°C
HUMIDITY: ... 90%RH
LIGHT: ... 1 x COB strip with 4 x Cree CBX3590
FEEDING: ... Tap water [EC 0.6] pH'd to 5.6

12 babies above ground under The Dome.
1 more added from the paper towel, which finally showed its tap root.

I've been playing it cautious with the COB strip, and have had it relatively high above The Dome, erring on the side of caution, given the intensity of the COBs.
But I might have overdone it slightly - the girls are looking a touch on the lanky side, so have lowered the light a little.

This is probably a little boring in terms of a Grow Journal.
Nothing really to report - just baby snapshots ...

DAY 5

TEMP: ... 23°C
HUMIDITY: ... 90%RH
LIGHT: ... 1 x COB strip with 4 x Cree CBX3590
FEEDING: ... Tap water [EC 0.5 to 0.6] pH'd to 5.6

Tap roots were lunging out the bottom into the tray, which defeats the whole purpose of the rockwool, which is to air prune.
So quickly rigged up a mesh screen with which to raise them above the ribbed bottom of the propagator, which simply is not ribbed enough.

The mesh screen is far from retail quality, but needs must in this instance.
As a temporary solution, it will just have to do until a more permanent fixture is discovered.

I think the yellowish hue to the leaves may be due to the tap root bottom feeding in the propagator.
Let's see what happens now that they've been raised.

DAY 6

TEMP: ... 22°C
HUMIDITY: ... 90%RH
LIGHT: ... 1 x COB strip with 4 x Cree CBX3590

FEEDING: ...
Tap water [EC 0.5 to 0.6]
General Hydroponics Flora Bloom @ 20 drops per litre
House & Garden Roots Exelerutor @ 5 drops per litre
pH'd to 5.6

PB090018.JPG

With the Speedgrow Green blocks raised higher to promote root pruning, and with a hint of Flora Bloom nutrients [Lucas Formula] in the pH'd feed, hopefully the yellowish hue to the babies will slowly disappear.
It's my first aventure in Coco, so maybe the yellowish hue is the CaMg deficiency most coco growers seem to speak of.

The GREAT news is 13 of the 14 seeds made it.
I am assuming the floater is the one that flatlined, so 13 babies means that the 13 that hit the bottom of the glass when soaked in water, made it.
I'm happy with that.
