im a big fan of an early chop racy head high.but looking at the hairs/pistols im thinking at least a week if not two
few times i run purples they had like a second flowering of new clear/white hairs and foxtailed a bit because of it.nowt wrong with foxtails unless you get a bit anal about a super close trim job,i think its pretty to look at.bonus its purple
a lot more to lose by chopping a week early compared to a week late......even though its hard to cut a week late

4 weeks is extreme. But you said you like couch lock knock out bud. You will see journals where the fan leaves turn white and fall off before harvest. And you will see many that harvest while the plants are pushing out pistils.

There would be no shortage of opinions on both sides of argument. But you don’t really know until you try it for yourself. And then how much of a difference does it really make. If you lose 2%thc but get 30% more bud dies that matter? Or is any of that relevant to your palette?

arguments can go in for days and I stay out of them because I can’t fight the science fight. I live in the real world. I can tell you that I’ve changed and varied and staggered harvests and at the ends of the day no one that’s sampled the meds could tell anything apart within strain.

I might be actually doing just that bro. maybe chop half plant in 2 weeks other half 2 weeks later..

im one extreme,i think theres a thread from way way back muddy when to harvest your leaves will tell you.med peeps looking mega amber will more or less let the plant die.with lots of peeps inbetween.2 or even 3 stage harvest makes a lot of sense for some folk.more often than not the top of plant will amber before the middle/lower.
all comes down to personal preference.if ya dont know what ya prefernce is take some samples along the way :smoking: in the last 2 weeks the plant wont know you just chopped a whole branch off :smoking:
harvest is just a window,not a right or wrong door amber trichs is the start of thc turning into cbn,the more sleepytime stone.
relates to photoperiods and a smidge generalized,but a good watch.

There g14 is one of my favorites. The fastberry was a real treat too. These are on my list. Looking real good. Now just wondering because just curious i read where you ph 5.8 then up to 6.0 at flower. Is this because a nutrient does better at 6?

Welcome aboard nelson mate
I believe you are correct, that's the way i do.
couple years back, an agronomist friend told me its better to up the ph a bit during flower, I believe it's because some nutrient are absorbed better at this slightly higher ph.

Yo guys thought to bump an alert to ya'll so you can help me get to a quick decision,

Trichomes on BB1 and 2 are almost all the way cloudy and just a tiny bit of ambers, lower buds still no ambers though, still many white pistils @ mid growth buds

3 days ago I chopped 1 small branch of each , tested now and there's a strong head high but not as potent as it could be..

So... start flush now, or wait another week as planned?

yo shreads - apologies for my lack of recent attention. plants looking shweet bro.

i dont flush in the typical sense of the word - just water only for the last 7-10 days. my advice is to do this now if you aint started already of course.
