Hello!

New grower here who grows for medicinal purposes not for myself.

Setup: 3,33ft x 3,33ft x 6,67ft ( 1m x 1m x 2m) growtent

growlights: Marshydro Eco 120 LED that is currently on a 26 inch (65cm) distance from the plants.

2 oscillating fans

1 carbonfilter 5,83 m3/min( 216f^3/min)
very short ducting that travels as straight as possible.
due to some unfurtunate circumstances i operate a diffrent inlinefan than i should, but will change it as quick as possible inlinefan properties 123,5cf/minute.

Growmedium: Soilmix that i mixed with 20% perlite. The soilmix probably dosent exist in North America(where most of you are from i assume) but it is a potting soilmix that accourding to a lot of people is a soild growing medium.

potsize: 5 x 6,5L (1,72gallons)

I started by attempting to germinate 5 autoflower of Northern Lights and then plant them in the soil however i suspect i keept the humidity conditions to high and germinated to long so only one seed of the 5 started to grow. I have since then planted 4 more, 3 royal cheese and one fast eddy cbd.

The second germination in a wet paper towel went excellent but after almost 2 days i start to worry that it might be a failure all over again.

I now want to ask you to help me diagnose my plant that survived my incompetence the Northern Light i will add pictures below. I read the diagnostic guide on this page but have been unable to diagnose on my own.

Some help would be highly appreciated.

I am a new grower as well.

You mention possible humidity issues. Do you have a humidity/temp meter? How deep are you planting the germinated seeds?

Also, how much have you been watering?

Hello! Thanks for replying.
I just bought a humidity/temp meter and it shows around 40% humidity, to wich i have placed some water in a bowl inside the tent to increase it. The second time i planted the seeds i was very careful to not plant them to deep less then a inch 2 cm maybe.

I have only used a spray bottle to water the northern lights the generall consensus seems to be that the soil contains enough nutrients in the start and one shall avoid to overwater the plants.

That growth don't look right, me thinks mutation....Def want to get yourself a temp/humidity meter.

That 1 plant has a mutation . But it's not then 3nd of the world yet. Out of 18 plants popped since February. Both photos and autos I would say 10 have had mutations of some sort. Unless the plants are insanely mutated they should pull though . Now that being said. I have a couple suggestions for ya. As a seedling or when germinating a seed you want high humidity. Like in the 70s. And you want it in the 60s to mid 70s during veg. I would be a good idea to get an small humidifier in there. I'm sure you wherever you live you have like a kijiji or a Craig's list where people sell stuff. Usually lots on there. 2 I know everyone has ther own way to germinate seeds and the paper towel thing us a tried and tru method. But consider germinating next to a window in jiffy pellets. I'll post q pic incase they are called somethin different wher you are so you can see what I'm talking about. It's honestly fool proof. I have had 100% success in germination using those. Only had one that had a hard time popping so after a week instead of just throwing it out I spread open the pellet to see if it had even popped a bit. The tap root was pointing upwards so using tweezers I changed its position and put the dome back on the pot and couple days later she was sprouted. Once the seedlings are about 2-3 inches tall you can transplant into the final pots. There a good video of YouTube by Home Grow Engineer that'll how you how to use em. Super easy. Outstanding success rate

I agree, that is either a mutation or not a cannabis plant. Did you get seeds from a reliable source?

Germination can be really stressful, and you are not the first gardener to have a hard time with it. I still dread watching for my sprouts to pop up even though they mostly pop fine nowadays.

Temps close to 80 degrees will give best results for germination, and it still might take a few to several days before your sprouts break ground.

That light will not be enough to cover a square meter. It should do ok for some seedlings and maybe some veg. If you are going to use LEDs I would really look into quantum boards or cobs. I had terrible luck with mars, and I probably had 4 of their lights because the price was right. Looking back, I definitely should have used HID or a good LED.

If it were my tent, I would look at a Timber 4VS or a Horticulture Lighting Group 320 Watt XW if you could afford it.

Either way I would ditch that mars light or at the very least get a cheap LED that pulls 400 real watts from the wall.

A 400 watt HPS or a 315 watt CMH would also cover that space OK.

Another option is to get a smaller tent and use a smaller light as it will cost some $s in lighting to cover a square meter with a good amount of light.

Good luck!

I am going to agree with @Animatey on this. That it’s a very strange mutation. Honestly doesn’t look like a cannabis plant. Where did you purchase from. Here is a northern light seedling.

Hi! Thanks for replying

Seeds is from a company called Royalqueen seeds. So you are saying that there is no chance form me to grow anything without changing the light. I am very confused becuause i read that people have grown cannabis using far cheaper lights.
