Mephisto Genetics White Crack and Kis Organics Soil

Most welcome slow ....

if you look note the craft blend bag is pretty full whereas the kashi is well used as is the kelp but the kelp was down a lot before it came into the room ..... As I was adding a handful of EWC with worms and some mulch I would toss in some kashi and kelp - straw, kashi and kelp went down first with the live worms and castings on top - sprayed mist before and during process and that was it unless I felt like some craft blend but that was rare ...... the bottle nutrients on the other hand were added more than not with each watering but heavens she was drinking in excess of two gallons a day in her peak AND the amounts added were always under recommended quantitie, always .......

also the water - I used rain water that tests about 120 ppm and around 6.8 ph
Thanks MOB, good information to know. I don't have any worms. Unless they are alive from EWC I used. I used Tap water on my plants now and my 5 most recent plants. If the Tap water was bad, they would most likely show my now. So that is awesome! So much easier/faster! My new regime will be Mon-Fri water only. Sat will be my Top dressing day. Alternating Top dressing and MBP. I will have my Build a soil stuff We or Thursday. Will do my top Dressing Friday night next week. Then move to Sat the following weekend. All at lower doses than suggested. I am hoping that will speed up flowering!? Veg is awesome with this Soil! Need to be diligent and start my top Dressing schedule.

I topdressed my two Jrs with 2T Dr Earth 2-2-2, 1t Dolomite Lime (Instead of buying a "more complete" fert with calcium and mag, I just used some of the stuff that came with the juniors), 1T MBP watered in with Recharge+Aloe water. Everything was nice and moist and fuzzy under the cap. Bottom only tap for the week now.

I'm rethinking/overthinking the 5g bucket thing. It's my superpower. Hey @MrOldBoy , you have both fabric pots and earthboxes. Preference?

wild thread man. you guys could grow potatoes in shit on Mars. that's a compliment. I'm light years away from growing organics. Still so much to learn with what I'm doing. but one day I'll get there.
Nah @grower789 , it is just a different way of looking at growing. Really what LOS does is to make you plan ahead accordingly. Instead of feeding my plants x amount of nutes daily, I have to plan ahead weekly...not daily. Unlike hydro or Coco, the changes are not as fast. Positive or negative changes take longer in Organics to see. Now that I have seen 3 plants veg and flower, I know how to make my adjustments. I am actually really enjoying the change. It is a totally different pace, but once you plan it out...Organics are way less work. I believe that having so much experience in other methods, has made it pretty easy to transition. I am glad that I waited this long to try LOS. Yields in Organics have gone up so much, 20 years ago the yields were pretty much a joke compared to now. My buddy grew Organically 20 years ago. His plants didn't yield jack crap! With all of the information available and all of the growing products available now, I felt confident that I can meet or beat my Coco yields. Now is the chance to see. BTW, because I am totally into experiments, I will be doing 2 Fast Master clones in Soil once rooted. I am also going to do 2 clones in Coco, also in Earthbox Juniors. I want to see what clones do, because they are identical. So in the near future you will see a Coco grow in Earthbox Juniors to make a comparison. Coco plants will be fed liquid nutes by Green Planet. But I must wait a few weeks for space. Clones will tell us more than Autos. Each Auto is different each round...unlike clones. My Fast Master mom is crazy huge. I am going to take a few more clones from it and then toss her. I have 4 smaller Fast Master plants, so I have new mom's anytime I want to take clones. I will let everyone know when the New clones get roots. I tried 4 clones in Starter Mix. Potential to be more moist than my Coco clones. I will be clipping more clones today. I will make sure the moisture in the cups is a little less than the first attempt. I did use more water to hydrated the starter mix than expected, but not horrible. However, I can squeeze more water out next round. Coco clones are super easy to root. Maybe the starter mix will work just as well. Peacez slowandeasy

He commented that the Fabric pots yielded much less and they were harder to keep perfectly watered. His plants looked good, but if I recall he said he won't use Fabric pots anymore.

SIP Containers blow away fabric pots ...... Yes I had both and the fabric no matter how hard I tried I could not get the worms to reproduce like in the EarthBox ...... The EarthBox keeps the soil moisture idea throughout the grow, it’s never too moist or too dry ......

To add to my preference I will say I am a good water guy, and I enjoy it ....... I know how to properly water and get just the right runoff so it’s not like I haven’t a clue on watering and add in the fact I had a moisture meter in one of my fabric pots to help ....... For sure hands down the SIP Container aka EarthBox far superior.

You ever try blumats? Seems like that's the same thing as Earthbox, but different.
Not the same. I used them in the past. They work well, but have minor issues. You have to toy with the drip rate and flooding can and has happened. It is water pressure driven. So different levels in your Rez will effect the drip rate. Don't let it get low, that is how floods happen. Low pressure to high pressure from empty to full Rez.

Quick answer, only in an outdoor environment and not with weed .......

Drip water systems try to do the same thing a SIP Container does and can work if dialed in just perfect but I don’t believe an indoor drip can outperform a SIP Container unless pro setup on larger scale and even then - the moisture level is always just right in a SIP Container but with a drip system there will be dry and/or too wet soil in some areas .....

As slow points out there are issues with the tank and adjusting the drip lines .....

SIP is the way to grow.

Flooding out my tent is one of the things I excel at. Just did it again this weekend when a DIY humidifier got out of control. So I'm comfortable with that.

I'm trying to homogenize my organic containers. I want something a little bigger/wider than the Jr, but not sure 5gal buckets are the answer. Maybe with a cover. So I'm considering DIYng it up again. 12g Home Depot bins, SIP style with perforated drain pipe in the bottom. Maybe I'll slap a grommet in there so I can direct overflow via tubing. I have one single sterlite 10g which is a perfect form factor -- not sold anymore apparently. The 12g's are a tiny bit too big, but that is offset with their widespread availability.
