i feel you.... if your in soil ph isnt as big a deal as hydro at all. i use blue lab ph pens and its the best bang for your buck.

That's not right. The pH requirements are different, but it's no less important in soil than in hydro. Cannabis can't grow in pH 4 in soil or hydro. I know you know there's a range that they thrive and it's different in soil vs hydro, but please don't say it's not as important in soil to check it. That'll give new comers the wrong message and spread nonsense.

Hydro is a ph monster, I wouldn't even try without a meter.

I'm thinking of going with strips, I don't trust my meter, any more. It's my fault for not keeping it calibrated, but I will always look at it questionably. I want to get strips as a cross ref. Atleast.

Sounds like you're dialled-in to your grow man :peace:

I'm not doing to bad. I just stared trusting things that's all. I still have problems. Mostly brought on by me. Can my ph get out of whack?possibly. Do I still over water? Sometimes? Do I still under water? Yep. Do I over feed? When you walk the line shit happens.
I can still do better. I know it. I have been doing a lot of experimenting over the last six months trying to find a easy grow method for my friends. No ph meter, easy to find medium and cheaper nutes that ph themselves in tap water.
Almost there. Another few years and I got this.

cant hurt to double check thats for sure. ... haha here we go with the whole ph checkers and ph haters. debate never seast to exsist. craks me up :D

I'm a ph hater. But I do check, just not always. I am a slave to nothing but a water bucket.

I had no idea there was such a divide in opinions when it came to PH. I just read everywhere that I had to adjust it. In my case I have to adjust down.

I don’t have a digital ph tester; the shop just threw in a solution that I mix with sample of water.

Ok for now, but I guess I will invest in a digital one when I start mixing in nutes.

It's the old "what works best for you" method. Can't beat it. I honestly think if I could do well enough (not perfectly just enough) to harvest 1.5k a year I'd probably not care how I did it.. so long as I did it. ;)

Oh yes.. it's a hot topic. always is. ;)

Ph is important. You should feed at appropriate ph levels. That being said how many times does it take before you mix a ph adjusted nute mix blind. I own three different nutrient lines and all ph themselves in 5.8 to 6.1 in tap water. Sunshine mix seems plenty stable for me and I would expect promix to be just as good. Add it together and BAM simple success. If your nutes need to be adjusted the they need to be adjusted.

"All ph themselves in 5.8 to 6.1 in tap water"

Whats the PH of your tap water on its own ?
