New Grower Which LED is better for my Low price range?

Hey rotweiller.. ive been using a vipar 300w panel for just over a year in a 0.8 x 0.8 x 1.6m tent and can safely say that for the price its great.. ive got quite a few pics on here of some of my grows.. im sure if u link thru my name u can find em and see what sort of results im getting with it.. good luck with your grow ;-)

I've got a feeling that i'm going to be asking you and #astronomy420a a few questions about my light when it comes (hope you won't mind?).

Anything I can help with is a pleasure bro that's just how we roll at AFN ;-) I ain't the most technical myself but I'll c if I can paste cupl links of my grows on here for ya ;-)

Rite now I have 4 ladies in my tent under the 300w panel.. a trans Siberian , a bloody skunk, a diesel and a 2fast2vast.. it's a very tight squeeze in the little tent but I've done 3/4 plants before under this light with no probs.. the bloody skunk is the tallest auto I've grown at 39 inches as of last nite!! That's a monster for me lol..

Theres quite a few more on here but these shud give u an idea of my results with the Vipar 300.. I usually average 3/4 oz's per plant ;-)

There are loads of Vipar users on here and all gettin good results from wat I've seen.. sure we'd all luv a cupl of HS1's to be getting on with but on a tighter budget the Vipars will do a job for ya..

Thank you for the Easy to find links lol... I've been Programing, Building and Repairing computers since i was a teenager in the early 1980's when i got my first Sinclair ZX81 but when it come's to surfing websites i still haven't got a clue how most of them work .

I'm very impressed with your grows and can't believe how well the Viper 300W works
Your girl's look as good as my photo girls that were grown using a HPS 600W with a Duel spectrum bulb from start to finish but without the Hugh Heat problems that i always had. Dammmm your girls look happy
Some of my girls were over 7.5 feet tall as well and had to be bent, twisted and contorted just to be able to fit in my tent and be 2 feet under the light which was as high as it could go without burning the tent, house down lol...
I can't wait till next week when my Viper gets delivered

Can you tell me what height do you have your Viper at Seedling Stage, Veg Stage and Flowering Stage please?
Just a rough guestimate will do if your not sure

Thanks man.. they usually turn out well thanks to AFN and all the helpful peeps on here who've given me what little knowledge i have lol Ive never run photos before but have a vanilla kush and a northern lights to do after i finish this run of autos just out of curiosity ;-)

I also have a 400hps which i havent got using yet as i cant control the heat off it!! Bustin to get a grow with it for bud comparison.. all in good time ;-)

I usually keep my light about 18 to 24" from the plants all the way through bro ;-) I think you'l surprised at how good this little light is.. again considering the price ;-)

Your right about everyone being helpful on AFN and very friendly
This is now going to be my New Home and even more so as i'm just starting to grow with the Auto Girls I'm not giving up with my Photoperiod Girls though coz i like em Tall & Bushy

i've been using RIU for the last 3 or 4 years and have got to the point where i've had enough of the place coz of the way most of the youngsters treat everyone there. Worse still, the Mod's don't even seem to care anymore and some of them even join in with the abuse & trolls. And Don't get me started about their UK Growers thread .
I was born in the East End of London and sometimes my lingo can be a bit colourful but i sound like the Pope chatting up the Virgin MaryJane compared to some of the knob's on the UK Growers thread

Anyway.....
It's been a few years since i grew it but the Vanilla Kush was a real Beautie of a girl and tasted like Heaven (knocked me on my arse as well hahaha). I Defo recommend growing that.
I got it as a Freebee and i keep saying to myself that i'll buy some more VK seeds but i keep on getting sidetracked and buying other verity's lol... I've still to try NL but it is on my list of beans to get/try

As for your 400Hps, If it chucks out as much heat as my 600Hps did then wait untill winter when it's -20 coz it will heat every home in your street unless you get your fan's and out take vent's sorted, but... you girls will love it Soooo Much
BUT Then again..... looking at how your LED grows are going and how Nice&Fat your girls look i would have to say that your doing pretty dam good as it is and is it worth the hassel with the heat and the extra electric bill just to gain a few extra gramms/oz of bud? (i know the answer is yes but i thought i'd ask lol...).

When i first started to grow my own i also wanted to grow Every strain that was going but soon realized that I couldn't afford it and didn't have the room
I also need Indica girls for their pain killing abilities. So that means i have no room for Sativa strains even though i like so many of them. (Catching a Big Carp when you have an Indica Couch Lock is a Nightmare)

Thats when i thought about changing how and what i grow with.
Out with the 600W HPS and big CFL's, In with the LED's and Auto's And i still get to have a couple of Big Photo girls in the greenhouse each year as well as my Mega Hot Chilli's

I've still got quite a few photo seeds left so instead of growing 7-8 foot monsters in my tent (veging for 10-12 weeks then flower another 10-12 weeks) i might just veg for 4-5 weeks and scrog them with the new Viper Or just Fill my greenhouse with them all next year and keep the tent purely for Auto's including a couple of Sativa's just for fun smoke

I earn a half decent living working offshore, but I'm under constant pressure from my gf about growing costs.


I've only just started my first ever indoor grow, and I was tempted by cheaper brand LEDs at first..,


But I held out, and bagged two grownorthern lights from eBay, one ms0004 and one ms0006.


I managed to get them for £100 each (the ms0006 was going for £120, but I bartered the seller over private messaging..)

My novice advice would be to try and get £100 together and get the next GN light that becomes available, many GN users will be upgrading to the HS1 in the future, so you may grab a bargain like me.
