Dinafem When to harvest the CBD strains?

In addition to Ripper's reply above, if your friend doesn't want the THC buzz, then maybe try Dinafem's "Dinamed" strain.
It's extremely low THC, but very high CBD.

DinaMed is a perfect introduction to lure cbd strains. With 0.3-0.9% THC maximum and upto 15% CBD this would be perfect for users who do not want to get "stoned" in the traditional manner

Saying that CBD has its own head and body high much different that a THC high. More manageable and perfect for day time use :bong:

Also she's now available in autoflowering form :bong:

As soon as some land with me in the UK we will get some more Auto DinaMed CBD grows going on AFN

Yes Hemp Beer. No THC in it but it does have hemp seeds as part of it's beer process.

Then Blue Moon will bring out one with THC

Our good friend at Humboldt Seed Organisations have just done a collaboration which was launched in Spain this weekend .

They also have teamed up with a "craft" beer company to produce a ipa beer with added "green crack" terpines

I'll see if I can find a bit more info :pass:

This has not cannabinoids just extracted terpines

Very interesting and lots of new changes and innovations coming in this crazy industry :pass:

I like very much your strains for CBD. To be open about it, I have not tried any of your seeds. I am only on my third grow. I have a friend who has fought a 7 year battle to get off the opioids and she is off them now. She has constant back pain. So when my next med tent grow can take place I will buy some DinaMed and see how it works for her. She hates the THC Buzz so this sounds great. Thanks for all of your efforts in this area it will really help a lot of people.
Thank you all.

Not a problem my friend. Tell your friend congratulations on nesting her opioid issue. This is not easy these days with so much being over prescribed. Nice to see cannabis has helped :bong:

i am really glad that i found this thread. Especially with an Active member from Dinafem.

I have a question to @Dinafem-Mark. Tomorrow is the beginning of my 8th week (Dinamed - Not Auto) and it is unclear to me how to properly judge the best moment to harvest. I am really confused about it... should i harvest just based on first amber trichomes ? Is there any other "variable" that i also should consider ?

I've read (could be true or not...) around that amber trichomes are the result of thc oxidation... as the plant has very little thc, does it get amber amber trichomes like any other cannabis plant that also gets amber trichomes?

Another question, how important is the curing process on CBD plants ? Does it also increase the effect or..?

All very good questions which I'll try my best to answer

1- should you harvest when you first see Amber trichomes?

A- When the trichomes start to degrade this is when they turn Amber and this is when we see the CBD % fall. You want to try and harvest with as many cloudy heads as possible. Your trichomes will still turn Amber just like a traditional high THC strain as their is still THC presence and pure CBD trichomes also degrade(turn amber)

2-Any other variable you should consider?

A- Yes, you want to flush your plants very well before harvest, you want those buds to grow as much as possible to maximise end yield but I think you want to know the best way to harvest for optimal CBD %?

I have found that 48 hours total darkness before harvest will help those clear trichomes start to turn milky and stop the trichome degradation :pass:

3- How important is curing.

A- Just as important as with Any other strain. CBD, THC, CBG will all change as the flowers cure. This you will have to test.

Try some at say 3 weeks dry
Then let it cure a week and try more
Repeat this. This way you will find what works best for you :pass:

I hope that helps mate?

I try my best to be as thorough as possible but this still needs a lot of testing to get it perfect and this has got to be a community task not just ours :pass:

We are getting our lab tests results and from other verified labs around the world with very consistent test results, but for peak CBD content imo we need to test, test and test somemore as I think it could be strain specific also :pass:

Very interesting topic and one I'm researching, any input would be greatly appreciated and welcome :bong:
