i did search the coco board archives. Most info was back in 2014.

What synthetic nutes would be easy for a newbie to use who is growing indoors with coco and autopots with a res? Price is partially a concern. But more importantly I am looking for forgiveness, ease of use and good results. Not looking to blow the house down with a massive yields per plant. Quality and simplicity is what I am more interested in. This is non commerical personal use. And something that is geared specifically to coco.

I use COB lighting with supplemental HPS during the winter for heat.

I have access to med-high hardness glacier sourced tap water unfiltered or RO'd or I can mix both in whatever ratio.

And I can handle staying on top of PH of the res and in the pot.

Being somewhat inexperienced (but not a total newbie) I struggle with reading my plants and understanding what is happening when there are issues starting to happen. Like over watering for instance. I got rid of that variable pilot error by letting the plants drink on their own with autopots. I'm looking to kind of find the autopot equivalent with nutes now.

I'm not experienced enough to offer advice as I'm only on my 2nd coco grow and I also have trouble with spotting problems early on. I personally use Fox Farm nutes, but their not coco specific, but I do use GO's Cal/Mag Plus. Anywho, I'm interested to see what others, in the know, have to say. :peace:

@Unique is very thrifty and a great coco grower would love to hear that input.

I think one of the most important things in coco is to keep your pH consistent (@Unique will tell you 5.98!) and make sure you keep an eye on your new growth, but basically grow micro bloom and calmag should be all you really need to produce some quality.

I haven't done my own grow yet so most of this comes from reading a lot over the last 6 months and reviewing grow journals.

Like most of this growing thing.. This comes down to personal preference. Coco for new growers can be kind of tricky, especially if you are not well versed on spotting defencies early. My advice would be to use a line that is made for coco.. Or that states that it is made for, and works in soiless mediums. I use organic based nutes (Another personal preference choice).. Some use chemical/salt based.. As long as it ismade for coco, you should be fine. Request some samples from a few different nute lines and try them out. Elite has a thread on here and they have a sample program.. So does NFTG.. House of Gardens.. Bio-Nova and on and on..

yes, basically you can get by with just them 4... I prefer 3-part base nutes... I'd wouldn't ever use anything other then 3-part base.. I find most are pretty much the same, the Jungle Juice-AN or Flora Series-GH, both are exact imo and work great in coco, you have the best control using 3-part, other base types simply can't supply certain things, without you having to add..... I do not get nutes made for coco or ph perfect type nutrients, because I prefer to do the ph'ing myself...I'm a more hands on type person...I prefer be active in my grows, rather then sit back with nothing to do.. I know there many here using 2-part and things like that, but for me, that would never happen...

I grow in coco too and I also use a non coco nite. I run flora trio mgb with liquid koolbloom big bud over drive and botanicare cal mag.

I agree with unique. I like to make sure my ph is spot on before watering my girls rather than trust a product that may or may not work.

But as it was mentioned above nites are more of a personal preference than anything. You have to find a brand that appeals to you and claims to do what youre looiing for it to do. Dont buy because of a brand name or because 1 person tells you they got a pound with a certain brand, nutes are pretty much the same thing, different companies make you pay more and some make you pay less. Just depends on which direction you want to go.
