What do you want to see on AFN going forward?

It’s the fed govt that made it legal to own, possess, collect cannabis seeds as they contain less than 0.03% THC. It’s the germination of those seeds that come into question in states that haven’t legalized. Even in states that aren’t legal it is still legal to have the seeds.
Cannot vouch for the rest of the world…

That was with the 2018 Farm Bill. That may change with the new farm bill that may come up and then you have rescheduling of cannabis thrown in there too.

There's just too much patchwork in the US and the world that we can deal with the seeds here on this site.

Yes, I agree! Too much patchwork… so to deal, I use the seeds on this site lol! Jk I know, 50 states with 50 different ideas, ideologies, and views. If feds declassify, I know Kentucky will legalize. Not that I live there, but family members are hoping!

:pass:

"Maine permits the sale of all hemp-based products containing no more than 0.3% THC."

This is what I was emailed by the actual state government in response to a question regarding selling cannabis seeds

So the alternative of calling it a hemp product seems a grey area that I would be hesitant to test

The fact is seed trading is illegal in most of the World.. and allowing it on site puts all of us in Danger for the few..:pass:..
Not to mention Hops Latent Viroid, mislabeling or falsifying lineage, different countries controlling bacteria and fungal outbreaks, etc etc.

I believe in the concept of seed collectives, but maybe they are better run locally.

Oh Yes.......:pighug:......I'll vote for that one........

It's just a Numbers game @Del boy ....:headbang:..when we changed servers/domain name we Lost quite a few...as we build up again..Lighting Vendors will start visiting again.

Though I for one am Pleased about the Mars Rep availability on site answering questions and queries.

Active Reps are a god send for Customers..........:pass:.....
To tie two things together....this and contests

Would it be easier and more effective for gear manufacturers to run contests?

6 gal of nutrients or a set of lights, or a pack of seeds or whatever are very attractive prizes, and the manufacturer chooses the winner so no vote chasing is required.

Shhh........ yup... that is exactly the way we are headed....
We tried it at the end of last year,..and it worked...:headbang:

Actually that’s not entirely true, here in Maine it is generally illegal to sell/trade/gift seeds even though cannabis is legally regulated it turns out that the law specifically mentions the transfer of seeds and if you intend to sell them you need licensing. I could gift another medical patient in state but that’s about it. I emailed the cannabis commissioner and had this confirmed for my state and my town won’t allow me to register in my home as a cannabis company so I’m limited in my ability to spread the love.
Here we are (legally) limited to federaly and provincialy regulated seed providers which is controlled by provincial liquor distribution authorities.

BTW, the handful of available strains is abysmal, touting low cannabinoid and terpine profiles. I think it is protectionism for the big-brand licenced producers....

Of course, most of us are buying seeds from "unofficial" but established and well regarded breeders, (at least those who will ship here)

Back on track

Other ideas that came to mind:

*Recipe sharing: two- one for medicated, one for chow

*A repository or forum to share EMPIRICAL research

*A place to review or discuss smoking/vaping/processing paraphernalia

Well, the feds can't declassify it, unless they change a treaty agreement. They can reclassify it but they can't remove it from the schedule without that treaty agreement Change.

Congress has to do that.
