Never heard of them until now but i googled "mosquito dunks for fungus gnats"

There are threads on other forums about other people using them for the same reason you want to.

From what ive read it looks like you can break some up into a watering solution and also put some broken up ontop of the soil.

Its organic so your kind soil should be fine.

Found this FAQ from the manufacturer too.

Today is Sunday June 19 2016

As you guys know I have a problem with fungus gnats I will be trying to combat them with mosquito dunks.
As of now I will be crushing each dunk up from a six pack and putting it on the of top soil dry. I don't want to use anymore water in till I'm absolutely sure they are ready. I will later put some dunks in distilled water and water them. This problem seems that I am in somewhat if a early stage. So here we go...

I think a layer of sand on top of the soil may help too. Have you checked the pest section here?

Yes I did read that somewhere but I already have a watering problem and pouring into sand scares me.

I will be putting 1 crushed dunk into each 2gallon pot and a half dunk in the 2 1 gallon pots.

Should do the trick bud.

I think it will work too from what I read. Also these things are a pain in the butt to crush just a side note.
