Hi all, hope every one is good. I am new here, 1st grow for 10 years. Set up new room, W1m x L3m x H2m. Running a 1200W Philzon LED lamp. Its an attic room, temps can get a little high during afternoon up to 31oC is highest it has been. I am running lights 18/6. 18.00 on and off at 12.00. I have an 6"intake fan which is sucking fresh air in from outside via air brick into room and I am running a Rhino Pro Carbon Filter with an 8"extraction fan, this is sucking air out of room vented out through a 2nd air brick outside the room. The air exchange is good. The problem is my humidity is at 40 with both fans running 24x7...perfect for bloom/harvest but during the veg stage I am trying to keep RH 50-65. If I turn the Rhino off, the humidity increases rapidly to 45-50. I have wet towels draped on hangers which is helping. Is it wise to put the Rhino on a timer so it comes on for an hour every 3 hours to exchange the air and then run it 24 x 7 when I am flowering or do I need to run it at all during veg? since I have fresh air coming in 24x7 from the 6" intake fan? I am learning as I go, so far my 4 seedlings have survived a few mistakes, are a little stunted as a result and I am not expecting to get great results.... am hoping to learn as much as I can so I can get it right for the next seeds I get.
This evening I put the Rhino on a timer, timed to go on for an hour then off for 3 but I am worried that this will shorten the lifespan of the motor if it goes on and off ... although my dumb logic is that my bathroom extractor fan is always being switched on and off dependant on use of bathroom..... but appreciate this could be totally irrelevant. I am not very technical and have no clue how to adjust the speed on the fans, there isn't any dials on them, are there products I could buy to adapt the fan speed maybe? I would really appreciate some advice.
