Indoor Vapo's Dizfunctional Dinafem Diary.

I'm in total agreement! :hump:
Great minds ..eh?:eyebrows:
However each to their own but it seems we are in agreement in this regard!
I don't want there to be great long arms with a bud on the end, with large internodal distances.
It makes sense if it is really humid climate your growing in , purely for air movement and to stop bud rot.
I also do like to see a nice long cola as it always looks impressive but in the end it just gets reduced to buds for the jar.
Keeping it all equal means you don't have to worry about light getting to the lower part of the plant!
However all that said, It looks like I may end up with some Christmas tree shaped plants this time around, I've been busy and haven't had the time to play so much this time around.
Sometimes it is nice to have a lazy grow, even if harvest may be a little reduced!
Agreed, I have only ever left two plants as far as I can remember(?)it may just be one....I was always bothered about the top cola being the strongest too.....I wonder if the colas on a mainline have equal potency and if it differs from an untouched plant?....I wish I could test hehe.....that would be good to know.

......I wonder if anyone knows this? @Global Moderators @Gladiators ?

According to the labs I have sent samples to it does matter where on the plant the samples are taken from. They recommend taking samples from all over the plant to get an accurate report.

Interesting stuff bro, I suppose it would have to be a sample from the top of each cola for a mainline to see if they were equal, and then against a top sample from a naturally grown plant....sounds pricey haha

It is possible that a big top cola will produce more trichomes or bigger trichomes as they are the nearest to the light and will be trying to protect the plant from the intense light.
Other environmental factor that effect Trichome production is low RH and UV light. Low RH the plant tries to protect itself by producing more Trichomes.
On a outdoor plant I guess the south facing side of the plant (in the Northern Hemisphere) will produce more Trichomes and the top of the plant will also receive the most light, so trichome production should in theory be high on that part of the plant too.
The strength of the THC in the Trichomes should genetically be the same, just that some parts of the plant that receives the most UV should in theory be the most productive in producing Trichomes and therefore be higher in THC etc. Ideal if your a hash or concentrates maker.
RH in my cab is whatever it is, I would love to lower RH in flower but my dehumidifier is a gutsy bastard when it come to electricity consumption and I really try to keep that down.
My weed always gets me properly caned and I only vape at night as a rule, so It lasts me a long time. So no real need to make extra crystally.
Maybe someone will add some extra info?

Dude, I always thought the top bud on a natural grown would be strongest due to the wind pollenation? Lol.....more chance to catch pollen with a big sticky bud up top haha.....everyday is a school day bro.

It would seem to me that the buds in a mainline or a true SCROG, would be likely to have very similar potency, given that they grow about equally in size and are exposed to an equal amount of like.

400 bucks buys a TCheck
That would be a dear do indeed haha

Thanks pop22 thats a good reason for the mainline then, many tops of equal strength against just one big one.

Hello AFN...little update as I have done some work to them.....I tightened the side ties a little bit and took six leaves from them(couple more from BK 2 as I did the middle ones as well)....I only took lower fan leafs from the stems too....idk if it will make a diff but my Reggae Roots myco turned up today so I stuck a little shake in....I did not try to bend the two mains as they are now too thick really, just some gentle prying for them now....they have begun to crown now and will soon have spikey white pistil tops and I may have to pull a couple more into the light...
