Indoor Vapo grows some SPIRITWALKER

Helllllllooo guys and gals......how are you all?.......good, Its time for my epiphany to be revealed!!!......wooooo, are yous as excited as I ams???.....ok, so I was thunking...I'm trying to use less electricity, and more efficiently.....but I see some of you getting AWESOME results with 24/0 and I am stuck on 18/6 due to costs......so, this is how I am going to beat it, I am going to have 2 x 100w QB panels in my tent.....BOTH on 18/6 light schedule, but overlap them by 12 hrs.......Genius, yes!....so this is how it will work.....say we have LL for left light and RL for right light......my LL will come on at 6am...then RL will come on at 12 noon.....then LL will go off for 6 hrs at 12 midnight and come back on at 6am when RL goes off for 6 hours.....both lights will be on a 18/6 schedule, which means they each get 6 hours rest(I am not a big fan of leaving lights on for 24hrs straight)....so it will be LL on for 6hrs....then both for 12hrs....then RL on for 6hrs...and repeat......I'm hoping this might simulate the travel of the sun and give some p!ants time to "rest" while the panel directly above is off....but still running a 24/0.....my power consumption will effectively be 100w x 6hrs, 200w x 12hrs and 100w x 6hrs in a 24hr period:jawdrop:......is this genius?.....or the ravings of a demented madman?.....or both?.......please chime in and let me know what you think.......or maybe this has been done before and its called " " technique...IDK....I just thought of it.....let me know @Gladiators @Global Moderators @BCBudlady ........:joy:

the only way to know if something will work is to give it a try i get good results with 18/6 and as you know electric isn't cheap here but i will tag along it may even surprise me :cools: :pass::smoking:

Exactly bro.....thank you for the support....I'm going to try and time the 12 hr 200w period at "off peak" hrs

I have tried many light schedules with autos 24/0 22/2 20/4 and 18/6 There was no measurable yield improvement in going from 22/2 to 24/0 only a small increase in going from 20/4 to 24/0 and a little bit more in going from 18/6 to 24/0. But yield is only part of the story quality went down noticeably in going from 18/6 to 24/0. Consequently it cost more in power to gain a little in yield but the quality was less. I decided back then that 18/6 gave me the best quality with very good yield for the best price in power. Only one of the experimental grows was done with clones the 18/6 to 24/0 grows. The others were from seeds. This is a very small sample as far as experiments go and your millage may vary.

When it comes to LEDs running them 24/7/365 will actually make them last longer. It is the expansion and contraction of getting hot then cold that does more damage to them than running them constantly. It is kind of irrelevant though because the average service life is ~50,000 hours with the on-off cycle every day. That is 7.5 years at 18/6. You know you are going to want that "new light" before then and how are you going to talk your wife into letting you have it if the old light still works :crying:. Oh shit Dear I dropped my grow light and it quite working :crying::crying::crying:.

Very interesting epiphany. Staggering the light schedule never occurred to me . I’m glued to my seat! :pop:

Hello AFN.....couple of points to address here tonight, I think.......I have begun to use the staggered light schedule and these Spiritwalker will be the first to grow out, that have been fully under the new schedule......also, as you will see from the pics(I hope!)that I have begun to cut these girls, but I have taken the first and second node only....without topping them, as I usually do.....don't worry haha.......I'm gonna top them, just in a couple of days....one has the 4th node well out and is ready to be chopped but the other is still a little close....so a couple days grace it is, which I think might help and if it does, then I will continue to do them like this from now on...
