Grow Mediums Using Airdomes the right way with AUTOPOTS

I have no idea whether there is a wrong way to setup the air domes with the matrix disc and the root control disk (RCD) whether using air domes or now. It seems like there are options.
And the instructions/tips PDF file from the US is different than the UK version. I'm not sure if the US has the matrix disc or not. I'm in Canada and my 4 pot kit came with the matrix and the RCD.

And it has this tidbit of of a tip.
The Root Control Discs (RCD) and Matrix Discs work in the following configurations:
A Black Matrix Disc in the pot, RCD in tray gold face up
B RCD in pot gold face down
C RCD in pot gold face down and RCD in tray gold face up
But there is this tidbit on when using air domes.
If using AirDomes firstly place the AirDome on the Root Control Disc, then fill with either Clay Pebbles / GrowStones / Perlite to the height of the AirDome.
I think the autopot company has gotten themselves too many products and too much complexity that its confusing people. That plus their writers and editors are newbs.
the only thing that came with my pots was the root control disk. I put it in the bottom of the pot with the copper side up. Seems to work just fine.
@lunarman yea, I was confused too.
You can throw away black disc, because it's not important, it's only optional. Just make sure gold disc is upward to the roots, not downward. You can place it into the pot or into the tray.
I have black disc in pot and gold disc in tray. Gold side up, of course. When roots hits gold side, they stop growing.

That's what I'm going to do then @KonopCh. Can't wait to pot up my first 2 with domes. Just started to soak a couple of beans last night.

I'm in the US and got the "square root control disc"s included with my pots. I used them on the first go round and haven't since, no air dome for me either as I just throw a couple of inches of hydroton in the bottoms. I do have roots that grow out into the tray, but have never had any issues with clogging. No complaints from my plants either.
I actually get little white things down in my trays. They react to the surface of the water being disturbed which is kinda cool, but don't seem to be harmful in any way. I've been meaning to post a vid in the biotabs section to see if anyone could ID them. Don't feel like dealing with youtube, anyone know an alternative for posting the vid?

hello i am just noob trying for the first time the autopots with airdomes and need an advice : this is day 21 after putting the seeds into coco, they did not grow very fast so do you think i could start the airdomes from now ? I just fed them yesterday.. and how many day before i can turn on the autopot ?
well normally it was day 15 for airdomes and 20 for autopots on but as my plant didn't grow like the one i see on this forum, i prefer to ask..

Hello @Shantam if your airdomes aren't on yet turn them on, then give them a few days before turning on the res. Not sure what your watering schedule was from the beginning. I watered my pots with 1.5L of light nute solution before putting in the germed seed. Then about 5 days from sprout 500mls of light nute solution poured in a ring away from the sprout, at 10 days 750ml-1L, 15 days 1L and turn on airdomes, 20 days turn on res and last top feed of 1L to make sure pot was saturated.

What @bushmasterar15 said, is pretty much what I do. Some growers turn the reservoir on when their plant’s leave reach the outside of the pot. Me I turn it on at day 21 no matter what.
do you have your airdomes on a schedule or do you run them 24/7?
