Yeah bro, the airdome would be beneficial with any pot or medium... Other companies have similar devices as well, here's one from AIT specifically for soil.

The company Hans is referencing is where I got the idea to make my own originally for DWC. Those devices they sell on their website are made out of nothing more than rainbird drip irrigation tubing, rainbird connectors, washers, and airline tubing. Very simple to make yourself and they work quite well.

I'm a noob here as well, join the party. I'm still a noob to indoor gardening, especially since I'm always trying something new. Still trying to find the niche indoors that I like.

The first time I used the autopots I got a nice smelly root rot. There was no airdome of course. Now I have the airdome, completely covered with perlite...so I guess next time I'll try your advice and only cover partially. Good info.

I've been watching people on here using the Auto pots with great results, I'm just about to start my first DWC grow, been using soil or soil for the last 4ish years, I think I might have to invest in a few of these. When I get the urge to use soil or coco again I can use the auto pots

Hey bro, did your kit come with both the marix disc and root control disc? The UK versions have both, in which case the marix disc goes in the pot and the root control disc goes underneath (gold side up). For the North American versions there is only a root control disc, which goes in the pot gold side down. (Refer to their guide, here).

Does the root control disk go under the pot itself? Or under the marix disk?

And do you know where that guide went to? the link is broken. And the US website resources pages is difficult to use and find info and I can't find that guide.

@lunarman take pot. Place black disc inside of pot. Place airdome inside. Place substrate. Put gold disc into the tray. Put pot into tray.
