Is the ballast noisy itself? (electrical hum) Try putting rubber feet on it? Like from a custom PC build website. They have lots of noise silencing tricks for computer cases.

A fan based air cleaner can make a fair amount of cover noise. I have a dehumidifier and an air cleaner running in the basement where my grow tent is hidden. It's enough background noise that no one will look for anything else.

Do you have something like a 30 x 60 tray?
Hmm... crunch the numbers, 180 cm2 each, at just 10 cm deep, is 1800 cm3, almost 2 liters!
Even a box lined with plastic and punch a few holes in the bottom.
If you could get 10g for each cola, 100 g out of that space is great! Even 7 g / 1/4oz a head.
I'd do a big tray, shared root space, rather than individual pots,
because that way there is no wasted area that could be filled with roots.
Since they are all the same strain, feeding should (hopefully!!!) be about the same.
Unlike multiple strains each with picky eating habits. :p
yeah that’s not a bad idea actually, I’m used to growing big plants so this is something g that has tickled my fancy

Good morning dont you just love it when you get a drop through the door let the grow begin

Thankyou it's the ballast that's humming, gonna get a digital one ASAP,
But I'm wondering if I can use the hps during the day, and then turn it off at night and use the 300w blue cfl on its own,

Will this stress or have any bad effect as its 2 different types of light at different Watts,
Can't believe I sat on my bulb lol

Rubber feet or hang the ballast. I forgot how bad they are.
Nah, I don't think different types of light freqs will hurt them in any way.
For heat, you want HPS day or night? I thought the HPS would be hotter.

For a moment, did you have a light shining out your butt? :funny:

It's a big day tomorrow for the Lemon Kix, she's getting topped, day 18. She has really started to get her grow on, with yesterday seeing her drink a litre. The reservoir was half filled on day 15 and was just about empty 12hours later, indicating the roots had hit the res.

The CK was effected I think by the kelp spray, she wasn't overly keen on it. Thanks to @hecno and @namvet25 from the infirmary for helping diagnose the issue early. :smoking:

I'll be topping the LK today but wanted some advice first. It's day 18 and in the night has developed the 6th node. Am I best to top her on the 4th as planned knowing that this girl must have good root structure or leave all that growth and top below the 5th

I guess the question would be, what are you wanting to do with this plant? Why do you want to top her?
Like, if your head room is limited, or you want to fill the space sideways more, then either top her or just hard LST to the side and open her up.
Personally, if I top I just carefully take the very top, and not remove too many nodes.
Otherwise, why let her grow more nodes just to remove them?
What do you want to do with this plant, and why do you want to top her? Then you can find the best approach to it.

Your Lemon Kix is looking great, by the way! Very bushy. I like your leaf tucking!
