Photoperiod UGORG DiscoBiscuits and Blues under DIY Cobs and 315 CMH

When I used to do photos, they stretch like hell mate, double in size at least, you want them to stretch, but try not to let them stretch too much, where you get massive gaps between nodes.
2 weeks is good for swapping bulbs over, should have stopped stretching after 2 weeks.regarding lights off time,I used to have lights off at warmest part of 5he day,but this time of year it won’t matter :pass:

See I don’t want them to stretch too much mate so maybe I should swap bulbs sooner? Would be happy with them at twice stretch, but any more and multiple super cropping and other “bollocks” will be necessary! I haven’t got too much headroom due to position of extractor and filter. The shorter and wider the plants are, the better it is for me. Just have to keep tying down I guess.

That's what you will get if you leave the veg bulb on during the flower stretch, they should remain shorter and stockier with more lateral growth and branching, just like in veg. In theory at least but I'm sure your photos will still stretch 2 times anyway. Still better than 3 times in your case tough :2cents:.

whats your thoughts on duel spec bulbs like my hps are you running them in your auto tents ?

Don't freak out to much on light leaks. What is meant by that is, do not let enough light leak in that the plant could actually grow towards when lights go out. Confusion between daytime and night time is what causes the plants to herm. I go in my tents during lights out.. Water them ect.. Never got a herm.

They look ready to flip. Dont forget to take and label clones in case you find a winner! Good luck!

It's been a good few years since I last grew photos but I personally would switch lights over now to the CMH then flip to 12/12 straight away. I think you want to trigger them into flower asap and the shorter wavelength of the CMH will help with that. I reckon leaving the veg light in even on 12/12 you're going to get more upward growth before flowering kicks in and the stretch starts. And like Prophetiko says, take a clone of each now if you can! The thing with genetics is you may never find the same pheno again - at least with photos you have a chance to keep something back, not so easy with autos!

Hmmm I’m not sure about that mate. Surely the more red in the light the more it will make them stretch? So CMH should induce more stretch than cobs as others have mentioned? Makes sense in my brain. Also isn’t it the hours of light that will trigger flowering not wavelength?

And yeah, got two examples of the disco pheno I’m after so clone keeping not a problem :)

Interesting mate thanks. I’ve been reading similar elsewhere. Like people saying the “power light” on appliances can fuck up the 1212 schedule? I find that hard to believe unless you are growing the most unstable genetics available!

So you say you go into your tent during lights off. Do you use a green light or anything like that?

Thanks dude.

@Eclectic Elle it’s kind of academic anyway mate as I still don’t know what to expect at all from “the stretch”!

You know when you’re watching buds form on your first ever plant and it’s just fascinating? It’s similar for me now. But that could just be the slight autism shining through!

Something inside me wants to get that CMH in there ASAP though I have to admit.

+1 on this, not from my experience but I have friends whose photo grows I've seen (and tried :smoking:) and they are very relaxed with lights out like opening the tent, checking on something etc. No hermies that I've heard of :2cents:.
