Photoperiod UGORG DiscoBiscuits and Blues under DIY Cobs and 315 CMH

Would some black stocking/tights material work? And will that still let enough air through? I'm panicking as I'm due to flip to 12/12.
Weed suppressant fabric? Poundland do it or probably any garden centre. You can double it up to get more thickness but I think air will still pass easily through. It may cut the light enough.

Good call mate. Thanks.

I also just watched a bloke make some with thick filter foam from a cooker hood. Similar to aquarium pump stuff. Over the ends of a piece of duct bent so both ends face the floor. Should be enough to stop light hopefully!

Quick update as today should be the day I flip to 12/12 if all goes well.

I’ve light proofed the tent and am just making some light proof passive intakes. Then hopefully tonight they’ll experience their first ever dark period!

Quite nervous as I’ve been running 24/0 autos for about a year almost. 12 hours of dark seems like an awful long time not to be able to check them and for things to go wrong!

Couple of them still slightly pale in places but I’ve upped their feed a bit and can’t see any other issues.

Experienced photo growers......... Any thoughts on their readiness for the flip? Cheers :pass:

Oh, I forgot to ask........

In conjunction with the flip to 12/12 lighting comes a change from 3500k cobs to 3100k 315 CMH light. Do you think they'll be ok to do the flip and the change of light source in one go? Or should I maybe change lights today, and then go to 12/12 tomorrow night to avoid stress?

Thanks again :pass:

Yo @hippy71 , girls are looking great man :pass:. I don't know what the stretch is like on those strains, those front two look ready for flipping but I haven't grown photos so not that experienced :2cents:.

My advice would be to keep the veg bulb for some time. It should probably help with height and bush them out a bit more :2cents:.

One question, when you say their first dark period, those that mean you kept them on 24/0 in veg?

Thanks dude :pass:

I also have no experience so I'm partly guessing and partly going on other grows! But....

Two of them (the smallest two) are Blues and the rest are Discos. The smallest Blues (middle left) I think is the short stocky "pheno" so I think she will stay small. The others are big enough for me this grow as I just haven't got a clue what to expect stretch wise! I know the Discos are supposedly a "twice" stretch strain, but I don't know how that will translate to bushiness and width?

I'm honestly not worried about yield this time as I have 6 and the buds they produce are purely for lucky ole me! :headbang: :woohoo1:

Yeah mate they've been on 24/0 since birth. I read lots of different opinions on this but for me at the time it was really my only choice, as I didn't have extraction etc set up and ready! They don't seem to have suffered and I have seen plenty of 24/0 veg grows. Some people swear it doesn't work and harms them. I read that photoperiods basically sleep anyway, even if lights are 24/0, they still have a "down period" as they would if there was a dark period

So, one vote for: Switch to 12/12 tonight but wait a while to swap to 315 CMH?

Thanks mate I appreciate your input as always :pass:

@Ryker604 also dude, I topped some and fimmed some, with different levels of success!! Also did more or less LST on some of them as an experiment just to try and get used to what happens come flowering time. So they are kinda different shapes and sizes!

The biggest are the topped DiscoBiscuits :woohoo1:

They're the ones I'm most looking forward to at this stage as I know what to expect from that pheno. Can't help noticing one of the other Discos has got the double serrated leaf trait which is common in UK Cheese :bighug:

Yeah man, my vote goes as you said, switch them cause you've got nothing to lose but keep the veg bulb for some time, I think it will help with the stretch :2cents:.

And I know about the training, been convincing you to tie them up and believe me, it shows . Many tops you've got there, especially that front-right Disco Biscuits, she looks great and I'm expecting many fat colas from her.
