STRAIN: Triangle Kush
SOIL: Peat moss + 10% vermiculite + old roots + more old roots
CONTAINER: 15 liter Superoots Air Pot
LIGHTS: cheap CFL, 24 hours
NUTES: Texas Tomato Food, $28 per gallon on Amazon. NPK is 3.8 - 3.1 - 7.0 based on "percentage of weight"
Supplement: DE (Diatomaceous Earth) for silicon

Nothing else except water and KISS (Keep It Super Simple)
I choose Triangle Kush because Mitch wrote:
"personal favourite, really flavorful flowers and very frosty, quick too, good flower/plant ratio"

Planted the seeds 2 days ago, crammed in with 3 other growing plants.
Yes, that is pushing the limits of common sense.
I want to be vaping tasty sample on Christmas day!
I'm a bit nervous about the germination. What if they don't pop? I dropped seeds straight into root bound soil.

Now... about the Xmas Comedy Bonus....

Triangle Kush might be lonely over the holidays, so three friends for good cheer:
Alien x Triangle, HBSS, and White Train.

FAQ
1. Hubbabubba, you are an idiot. Correction: I am a happy idiot. And that wasn't a question.
2. This won't work. See question #1
3. Weak crappy buds? Well, some micro growers, chip bag growers and shot glass growers report the potency is pretty good.

This compact craziness did well for 2 Tyrone Specials, and it is working now for 2 Fantasmos. Let's try 4.
BONUS: Less light, less heat, less smell, less watering, and less stuff to dispose of after harvest.

Now if those 4 seed would just pop up..... holding my breath.

I know this seems frivolous and wasteful if you are growing to share or sell.
But, this is a stealth grow only for personal use: no smell, no sell, no tell. Weed never leaves my house.

4 plants in one container might be helpful to small home growers trying to chose what to grow next.
I can't decide based smoke reports or descriptions. I need to sample all (or most) of the Mephisto varieties with my own neurons to chose a few favorites.

My priority is quality and convenience. NOT yield. That was a huge mental block to get over.
Just 4 months ago I would have thought this is a stupid idea to waste 4 seeds in one container, so much wasted yield!
Now I am thinking about maximum variety with my limited time and grow space.

Disclaimer: I am not a Mephisto Rep, shill, or salesman. I buy all my seeds. Mephisto doesn't know me, never met, never talked. It galls me that some people on some forums sell weed for $300 an ounce but can't afford integrity.

If the seeds don't germinate (gulp).... I'll post a last journal update and plan on coal in my Christmas stalkings.
At least we get a few holiday laughs.

If the seeds do Germinate...
The 4 plants will be FIMed, stripped to 2 colas, and LSTed across the middle. A 4 way cross.
The goal is 15grams from each plant, enough to choose a favorite.

I hope to do a few things better in this grow
-Silicon from day one
-FIMing, no topping
-no heat stress
-Side lighting for more even light coverage,

In my previous grows the top of the canopy was light bleached to get enough intensity to penetrate 20 cm of leaves.
Bleached at the top, light starved at the bottom. Sidelighting and bottom lighting can help but they bring heat closer to the canopy, need more airflow. Tricky

Is your hs1 down for good? I knew it wasn't working right but I figured you'd have got a new one or fixed that one.
Good luck by the way! Just when I think you haves pushed the limits you push them more. I'll be watching

Since you asked... I kinda shut up about my Grownorthern HS1. :deadhorse:
I was really annoyed that it died, the sudden change in lights messed up my Hubbabubbasmelloscope.
The leaves had adapted to the HS1 spectrum and suddenly they had to deal with CFL and more heat.
Now I can laugh it off, but at the time I was really upset.

Close inspection of the HS1 shows a high probability that it failed because of water damage to the copper circuit board.
There is no way that happened in my low humidity grow room, zero chance, even with the sloppy diffuser gasket.
Water damage could happen during shipping. Or before shipping, maybe a used HS1 got mixed in with the new ones.

Now I have 10 CFLs, none have failed. They are cheap and very handy for a small grow room.
If I had more than two containers I would switch to some form of HPS:

What do you think about 8 seeds in one container?

That's crazy so your just out a light. Well if you ever do decide to buy leds again my area51s have been going strong for a year now. They have far exceeded my expectations as far as wattage goes. Using only 50 watts each in "veg mode" and 77.5 watts each in "flower mode" I have gotten some great yields. They've made new ones now and they are actually cheaper than the old ones. Although I havnt tried the new ones yet, I plan on getting some when they aren't on 5 week back order.

Idk about the 8 seeds in one pot lol but it's up to you. If people can grow mini plants in shot glasses I'm sure you could pull off 8 in a air pot. As long as you don't expect a super yield from each one then go for it. The main thing I would be worried about is bud rot from all of them touching each other.

All good, Grownorthern said I could send it back.
And eventually they did get a very professional engineer to answer all my questions, even stupid questions.

Idk about the 8 seeds in one pot lol but it's up to you.

Well, I was thinking of 2 seeds in each hole. If both seeds germinate... kill the weakling.
I am really pushing my luck getting these to germinate in compacted, overused, root bound soil.
Too late now, maybe next time.

...inspecting the soil for signs of life every hour... remember that feeling?
