Hi guys,

as you can probably expect I'm a rookie in this, and I am starting my setup slowly.

We will be moving into a new house, where there will be a room in which I can build an extra room in,
for storage purposes, and ofcourse 1 corner of it will be for hidden growth of Autoflowering marijuana :)

I am attaching the picture of the room design, as you can see in the bottom, we are planing to open up a room
with a 120cm x 560cm. the original room size is 520 x 560cm

The only problem is that, that side of the house, is under the ground so I cannot open a window inside the extra room.

the closest windows will be at the top ( of the pic) in the original room.

This means that I dont have any direct air circulation into that room where I plan to grow.

I'm not planing anything big, a tent of 60*60*160 or 80*80*180 and a bulb of 250 or 400W.

growing 2 or 3 plants at a go.

can anybody give me some advice as to if a window in the next room will be sufficient for airflow,
or a system that I can use to get some air ventilation built into the room before we move in.

Thanks for all the help upfront.

SW.

You could keep the door open at all times, you don't really need "airflow" just air that has some co2.
But, what I would do is make a hole in the top corner of the wall separating the 2 rooms and add an intake fan there.
This way you'll pump air from the other room into your box and thinking that the bigger room is a living room there will be enough co2 coming from that room since you'll be walking in and out of that room bringing new air with you and opening that window from time to time will do the same thing.

personally I don't have a lot of "airflow" myself but can grow just fine.

Btw if it does happen that you have some problems due to airflow you'll be surprised what a mind can come up with in a state of urgency :D

btw if I say "airflow" I mean the airflow you're referring to ofcourse your plant will need airflow although that's not even 100% true.
Think as anything with growing cannabis it all depends on what you're hoping to achieve, personal preference and grow style.

Thanx illbethere, so only one hole in the wall should work, i can pump air in from there. I also red in some topics that you also have to send some air out, do they mean the air going out from the co2 filter? And in the way you explan it, do i just let that air out in the room i do the grow in?

Even with the filter, will there really be no smell for 2-3 plants of say moby dick xxl auto :)

I think if you use a carbon filter right it shouldn't smell or it should be unnoticeably feint.
I have 1 plant atm and no filter running I can tell you'll be happy you have 1!

Yes sending air out is EXTREMELY important because that's the way you're going to send out hot/humid air.

the co2 (carbon) filter, the filter itself has very little to do with anything it's just what you have to place onto the fan so it sucks air in through (or pushes air through) so that the carbon "catches" the smell.

I think sending the air out from your tent into your storageroom should be fine! ofc it's safer to make an other hole into the wall for the exhaust, but it kinda depends if you are comfortable with 2 holes in your wall or prefer having 1 hole. :)

I'm new to growing, but I do have some masonry experience. Since the room is going to be below ground level, I'm assuming the outside wall is going to be concrete or block. You can have a fresh air or dryer vent installed right through the wall. Just make sure the mason uses a screen to keep bugs out and a way to seal the vent when not in use. Most new homes with fireplaces must have a small source of outside air for the chimneys to function properly because they are built so air tight.

Are there any air bricks built into the outside of your house at just above ground level.
If so,these are to ventilate a timber floor, just find out which way the floor joists run and
cut a 4" hole in the ceiling in between the two joists that lead to the air brick.
If you have concrete beam floor, forget this idea.
I am in the UK and this is the method we use, might be different in US.

hmm, I am able to visualize it at last. ıthink ı will use the make a hole into the wall tactic :) thanks for the help and comments guys
