Thanks for stopping by Baylee ,my mother used to say the same thing, thanks for reminding me of there wise words

Ok , I have been reading around a lot recently on the best way to optimise these air pot’s , not necessarily for growing cannabis but general horticultural pages, now the consensus of opinion is that they require frequent watering of lesser amounts to maximise their potential.

Now as it happens i have since day 14 up until this point been generally watering every two days with 1ltr for the 6ltr pot and 500 ml for the 3ltr pots, now the last regular water was sunday night, but when i checked on them last night they was starting to get dry, dry enough that i felt i needed to water again.

So i was faced with- should i double their water intake and stay watering every couple of days or carry on with the smaller amounts and water daily, i decided to go with the latter option so the plan will be too water daily from now on, obviously if they don’t need watering i wont but since they are gaining height etc i presume there need will only increase.

Sersi has grown an inch since last night with Gamora and leeloo not far behind, at the moment Sersi seems to be putting more effort into getting her side branches up to the main stem height rather than increasing this, a good thing? I don’t know. To this point i have been confident in that i have been able to compare her to other grows but now she is neither a trapper xmas tree or a hansbrick bush i sorta lost, i can only continue to let her do her own thing and see at the end of the week where we are up too.

Hello Hairy one,
I don't see any of your pics here, (prob an issue with my comp).
However, if you read through Atrain's journal you will se that they used Epsom Salts an Molasses to cure "The Claw".
Your set up is very similar to one I will be using s soon as it becomes available. A converted wardrobe re lined with shiny stuff, Carbon Filter fitted at top, plenty ventilation holes in the base and a clip on fan for circulation. Ny grow light will be a 300 watt Dual Spec CFL.
using it currentl to finish off a photo White Widow.

Hi Broad sword, sorry you cant see the pics, might be an issue with your pc or perhaps the amount of posts you have made ? yes i started of with the 300 cfl it just got too hard to keep on top of the temps and with my continual moaning my wife gave in and bought me a LED :) funny she agreed to that but not a soil ph tester, ahh well thats for next grow, the claw , well as i understand it is normally associated with nitrogen toxicity and in my case it was me over reacting to a trait of these beans to produce clawed leaves at certain stages of development and more likely i had the light too close and the fan on too hard.look forward to your grow, ill'e look out for your thread, if your already finishing a plant off at least you have a good general understanding of growing cannabis so hopefully it wont be a stressful experience, good luck pal

I don't really have a good general knowlege of growing, my big plant is growing very small buds and I didn't kno anything bout correct feedng, humidity etc etc.
Have learned from mistakes though. Triyng auto's with cfl's as is cheaper to maintain.
Does drilling holes around the pots give the same benefits as those airpots??

Hey Hairy I am using 5gal airpots. I think are 12.5l equivalent. Early on when I first started to water I used 1L and would get about 15% runoff. It would take about 3 days to dry out. I switched to a modified version of Tangs feed schedule which calls for daily feeding from day 10. He states that he does not put in enough to have a runoff but he does not say how much he uses. Course that is relative to the size of the pot, airiness of the soil, stage of the plants growth. I am currently feeding 500-600ml daily. The pots are never saturated, but they never get dry either. The soil is always damp and the plants seem to be loving it.

Hmmmm, well there is nothing wrong with having lots of drainage sites at the bottom of your pot , but if your suggesting drilling holes up and down the pot i would suggest no, you’ll just end up with a wet floor , the airports have a unique design that can’t really be replicated with a drill. Well pal you come to the right place to find all the help and knowledge you need, my advice would be read lots of grow threads and try and replicate the successful ones that match your set up.

yes i think your right pal, that is the best way to go with using the air-pots, i have only had one run-off since the start. The soil i used already had an amount of per-lite already added and i added say 25-30 percent more, i have seen other threads where they water daily with air-pots so i think we are on the right path.obviously i am not using your Nute's so i am going with an adaption of a number of grows which use bio-bizz including mephisto, spangllish and an older thread made by Hazy at the end of the day we need to look at how our plants are doing and adapt accordingly.lol this is getting very serious i am going ta have ta find an old song to post for ya :)
