Gotta love the RVK. Capacitor’s on its last legs, she takes a while to get up to speed if you switch her off, I can replace that easily tho for about £8. (If it doesn’t catch fire)

Yup, I use that. Oversized of course. If you need it ultra silent, stick the fan in a box.

Motor end bearing, once it's up and running it's centralised by centrafugal force and cushioned by emf in the motor. Or I'm stoned and making stuff up.

And it's old school insulation, makes you itch like feck! I used duct tape to stick the inner and outer together. Cutting it's the usual pain cos the spiral wire.
