BUMP

Bump... Hey this is the reason i joined up so i don't want this thread to go cold, peace! :thumbs:

Well here's a thought for figuring out if autoflowers came first or not, if we go back and look at what cannabis most likely evolved from, see what those plants use to trigger flowering, or look at it's close relatives. If we look at hops, they require both a minimum number of nodes and then on top of that a certain amount of light/dark. So if we go back to Rosales (the order Cannabicae is in) and look at saxifragales (the order Rosales seems to have branched off of), what kind of triggering mechanism do most of these guys use? Or perhaps I'm going too far back, perhaps some genera within the cannabacae family would serve better. Any thoughts on this?

akaman-i have been cloning a semi auto for the past year cos its so damn tasty,its femaleseeds.nl semi auto grapefruit,i have taken clones from it when it was outside,&then taking a clone from that 1 then flowering&then another from that clone&then flowering the 2nd one...anyway i clone them in a heated propagator in a glass of water(nothing else),i usually get roots within 9/10 days&i keep em under a 13w warm white cfl for 24 hours a day then i lower it to 20 hours a day after a week

I Love it m8..it is Exactly like being @ home...

I tend to keep it to a minimum on thread..because I don't think a lot of US-ers understand it...
and they think we are arguing...meaning it.

But..to me..it is part of the Pleasure of growing..winding up me m8's..and being wound up back...
and the Ultimate..ultimate..pleasure..is to take your M8's genetics...
and Outgrow them with them......

First recorded use of cannabis as medicine in Chinese pharmacopoeia. In every part of the world humankind has used cannabis for a wide variety of health problems.2727BC

I experimented with ruderalis x sativa varieties from GypsyNirvana in the early 80s - the cross was very unstable producing a variety of pheno-types. Some of these were auto-flowering giants (12ft high 6ft wide) but they rarely produced a narcotic resin and often failed to reach a uniform maturity :( The drug quality was more or less absent in these plants.. Despite their ancestral role in the development of auto's they were nothing like what we're dealing with here.

Here's an extract from an article featured on the cannabis culture magazine website;

'The first documented experiments in crossing drug strain varieties with their Ruderalis cousins were performed by Ernest Small of Agriculture Canada in Ontario during the 1970's, for the aiding in the purposes of taxonomic classification. Crosses between these strains usually produced offspring of intermediate THC levels, with a few that leaned more towards the high THC end of the spectrum. It was concluded during this research that hybrids between drug and non-drug (both ruderal and hemp cultivars were tested) generally produced progeny of intermediate potency.'

autoflowers originated in india, from the rudarelis. They are the way they are because of the odd light cycle in certain parts of india. they grow natural all along the river banks. And i may be wrong about the light cycle, i think they are actually like that because of the odd seasons. But i guess both reasons are basically one in the same. Look in to it a little. Have a good one.
