New Grower The Garden of Beavis

:yoinks: = my face at the PPM

:holymoly:

so um, we would do well to get that number down.
the recommended doses on the bottles are for photoperiods; general rule of thumb is 50% for autoflowers and assess their needs from there.
deficiencies are out of the window until we can address what you've got inside the pot - feeding over 3000PPM regularly with no runoff will have created some interesting conditions inside the medium. have you a large supply of distilled water?

I have about 14 gallons at the moment. I just left the store lol

Also @Froot n Fuel the ppm was at 1567

The "ec" showed 3344 but I am used to seeing ec measured in like 3.34 or something?

Edit: nevermind I get it.. because I said it was probably double that lol I was just guessing. I can get a good reading from the runoff now that I have a meter. Before I was only able to test ph from runoff.

What do you suggest I do? I am ready to act now to save my babies lol

Nute manufactures recommendations are not to be followed.

They are there for ratio only.

You need to dilute then pH.

0.3 EC for seedlings
0.5 then up 0.1 per week at 3rd node
0.8 + for flower onwards

I am yet to be above 1.2 with a base of 0.

Any more hurts them. Check for tip burn and back off. Less is more

Stands for all stages of the grow. At flush all manner of deficiency will show ;-)

I suggest a good solid flush through. you wanna refresh that medium and get all those excess salts outta there as they’ve been getting some hot feed for some time now but looking at them I don’t think there’s any permanent damage, but I’ll show you some pics of a bad case I had tomorrow once I’m on the computer.

a flush usually consists of 3 x the volume of the pot, so a 3 gal would ideally want 9 gals through it. flushing is usually for worst-case-scenario but I think we have identified the problem and a flush is the solution in my opinion.

@Froot n Fuel

Thanks for the reply! I went ahead and tried a little flush with the distilled I had at the house.

Not quite enough to do 3x their volume, but it was a lot more than I've ever put in before and the ec/ppm levels were definitely helped out by this. It was way to hot in my soil lol.

Wanted to ask, your double grape, did it ever have a BAD smell to it? Mine is starting to smell like idk socks or something on the surface but underneath it is nice and dank. (I hope this isn't another issue I'm facing... Only plant of mine that has this smell to it. It really stinks)

Considering what's going in there, I'm surprised it's not higher to be honest but you're still probably feeding twice what she needs.

I've no experience with growing in soil but a flush might be for the best. You'll need to reset the medium a bit now otherwise it will hold onto all those nutes.

Did you check the ppm on the runoff from the flush?

re weird smell - check for mould but it's probably nothing.

The lowest I could get the runoff ppm was like 1900... Hopefully it will be enough to fix the issues. If not I guess I'm going to do a proper flush next time they are dry.

And about the double grape... It almost does smell like mildew or something bad from the surface, but no signs of mildew or mold in the tent at all. No signs on any of the the leaves or bud sites of any plants.

I was actually kind of thinking that the buds on the double grape almost smelled like nutrient mixed water...maybe they have been getting too much and it is reeking off of them?

Idk but the new tent and QB will be here in about 12 hrs and I think just opening them up to more airflow will help out a lot.

Thanks @NiceOption

Just bought the girls a new present!

Hope they will really appreciate this one.:toke:

Holy shit is this tent big! (For some reason I guess I wasn't expecting it to be so large..)

Also the inline fan that I got with the tent is a freaking monster. It is making the tent completely suck in. Like all of the side ports are sucked in and if I try to pull them out, they get sucked right back in lol. Bye bye humidity and temp problems!

My wife is probably not going to talk to me for a while now... Even though she was expecting it lol

I am really concerned that I am going to have to trash the Double Grape...the musty smell is only getting worse once the humidifier started blasting.

Praying that it gets better but anyone with experience with this type of issue please chime in. I would rather not infect my other 3 girls that are still fine to the nose...

@Andi @Froot n Fuel @NiceOption @Grimm @Frenjamin Banklin

Sorry to just tag all of you but I am worried about possible mildew infection...I don't want to do it bit I will sacrifice the double Grape for the betterment of my life and that of my girls...
